Meet Alex Henderson | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Henderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alex, how does your business help the community?
As a wedding photographer, I have the privilege of capturing some of the most important moments in people’s lives—memories that they’ll cherish forever. There’s something incredibly special about giving couples timeless images that allow them to relive their wedding day for years to come. But beyond weddings, I also use my photography to give back to my community in other ways.
I take photos for my jiu-jitsu gym, capturing athletes in their element, doing what they love. For many of them, these images are more than just pictures—they’re a reflection of their hard work, progress, and passion. And for the gym itself, these photos help showcase the energy and dedication of its members, which in turn helps bring in new students and grow the business.
I also love working with fellow business owners, providing them with professional headshots and branding photography. Whether it’s for their website, social media, or marketing materials, strong imagery helps them present themselves confidently and attract more clients.
At the end of the day, photography is about storytelling, and I love that my work not only preserves memories but also helps other businesses thrive. That’s how I see my impact—through giving people images that inspire, promote, and empower them.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Photography has been such a journey for me—not just in skill but in self-discovery. When I first started, I struggled with imposter syndrome. I spent years trying to keep up with trends, constantly changing my editing style, and trying to be what I thought clients wanted instead of staying true to myself. But I learned that there is a style for every client, and when you try too hard to be a chameleon, you lose authenticity. Once I let go of that pressure and focused on what I personally would want in a photographer—someone creative, intentional, and passionate—I started attracting clients who truly connected with my work.
Overcoming challenges in this industry has taught me that education is just as valuable as experience. No matter how much you think you know, there’s always more to learn. That mindset has pushed me to take risks, challenge my creativity, and never stop growing.
What excites me the most about my work is meeting new clients and capturing moments that mean the world to them. Whether it’s a wedding, a branding session, or even an athlete in their element, I love telling stories through my lens. My goal is to make people feel seen, celebrated, and confident in front of the camera.
At the end of the day, I want the world to know that my brand is built on connection, creativity, and authenticity. The best photos don’t come from following trends—they come from capturing real moments in a way that feels true to the people in them.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting, I’d make sure they had the best time experiencing some of my favorite spots in Atlanta!
We’d start our mornings with coffee at The Read Shop in Vinings—it’s the perfect cozy spot to wake up and set the vibe for the day. From there, we’d head to Ponce City Market and Virginia Highlands, wandering through charming bookstores, admiring the beautiful architecture, and just soaking in the character of the city.
Brunch is a must, and Postino’s is the perfect place! We’d order their famous bruschetta boards and enjoy a leisurely meal before heading to Piedmont Park for a long walk (and let’s be honest, I’d totally make them pose for some photos near the lake because the views are too good to pass up).
At some point, we’d have to catch a Braves game and explore The Battery—the energy there is always electric, whether you’re watching the game or just hanging out. And when it comes to food, I’d insist on stopping at Antico’s for a massive Great White pizza—seriously, it’s one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had!
If we still have time (and room in our stomachs), we’d swing by Jusgo Supermarket for some authentic dumplings, a little hidden gem for amazing comfort food.
The whole trip would be a mix of good food, great vibes, and exploring everything that makes Atlanta such a fun place to be!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of so many incredible people. First, I want to shout out the amazing photographers who don’t see this industry as a competition but rather as a community. Photography is one of those careers where no one starts out knowing everything, and success doesn’t happen overnight. The photographers who have shared their knowledge, given me advice, and simply cheered me on have made all the difference. I believe in paying that forward—helping up-and-coming photographers just like others helped me.
I also have to give a huge shoutout to my fiancé, Will. He has been my biggest supporter from day one, always asking how he can help and truly believing in my dreams. Whether it’s listening to me brainstorm ideas, hyping me up before a big shoot, or just being there when things get overwhelming, his support means everything.
Success is never a solo journey, and I’m incredibly grateful for the people who have walked alongside me.
