We had the good fortune of connecting with Aldreka Campbell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aldreka, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Well I always had a love for nursing, beauty, health and wellness. After 15 years of being a bedside nurse, I was ready to incorporate my other loves but into nursing some kind of way. I wanted to be on the other side of nursing, more preventative. I wanted to make people feel and look good, but not so medical persay…I started researching and reading about iv hydration and vitamins injections and notice more celebrities was doing it then anything, and decided I try it. I felt absolutely amazing. I was like I got service to more readily available for everyone. As far as skin component of it….I had such a hard time finding treatments that work for my daughter. There were no dermatologist in our area that look like us…that really sparked my passion for skin care even more and after 6 months in the business added more skin care regimen into the business.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Aldrjoy Hydration and Beauty is medical spas in Savannah GA. The only medical spa owned by a black registered nurse in our area. We offer IV hydration, vitamin injections, painless laser hair removal, microneedling, diamond glow facials, early baby dna testing, and so much beauty and wellness services. We have grown so much in the last 18 months. It was not easy!! Getting funding for the business for hard, but we push through and made it work! Also educating people about something not so popular in our area and the benefits was challenging at first. But now our reviews and referrals have increase awareness. I have learn that marketing and brand awareness is important. Our ultimate goal is making clients feel and look good and know the importance of preventative health when it comes to the body and skin. We are truly passionate about our services and just want the best results for our clients.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First we will get all cute!

Get a great lunch downtown at one of our great local restaurant!

Take a city tour with the trolley!

Great lunch again another local restaurant.

Walk the food off and do a little shopping.

Hit up a few roof tops, chill, sip.

Nice upscale restaurant and lounge.

Next day eat a good breakfast nice local restaurant.

Rent a boat for a few hours and enjoy the scenery.

Get a nap by the pool on a rooftop hotel of course where we would be staying at. Have lunch there as well and a sip.

Do the pedal rider and bar hop!!

Get dress up and eat dinner at a great local restaurant.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband was definitely my biggest supporter. He encouraged me constantly and put up a a lot of collateral for me to start my business! That made it so much easier. He saw more in me then I saw in myself plenty of days, and will always encourage not to give up.

I shared my dreams with Ariel Jones so randomly and she sent @veethenp flyer to me months after I shared my this with on IG. A huge blessing!!!

Veronica Sullivan, NP (@veethenp) changed my life with her iv hydration business class. It was truly an amazing experience and help me connect my thought process with nursing and business!

Monica Swint (@fleauxwithmo) was an amazing mentor, now friend. She constantly encouraged and help me connect dots to the business after taking class. This connect lead to a friendship and now business partners as well with iv insertion classes.
