We had the good fortune of connecting with Alaysha Talango and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alaysha, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
When life is shattering around you and everything seems to be falling out of place, one might think it’s time to call it quits, but I feel contrary to that belief. That is the time to push through the storm and be present in your life. To remember your why, who are you doing it for, and what is your purpose for doing this. Through all my obstacles I have thought many times I want to quit and be done with everything. I truly believe that I was made to go through the storms and to preserve. It made me who I am today. I feel when circumstances are breaking you down, but inherently making you stronger and wiser it’s a sign to keep going. If you can envision your higher self in the midst of the storm, and you see yourself in your ideal state, and it evokes pure happiness and joy, that is a sign to keep going. I don’t have an absolute answer for knowing when it’s time to give up. Remember, always keep in mind your why, who, and what is your purpose for doing this. If the answers you find don’t align with your vision, then it’s possible it may not be for you at this time.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love to create content and the process of editing has been my favorite thing so far. I’m proud that I took a step out of my comfort zone and starting posting online, and really putting myself out there. I’m excited to grow further in the social media space and to acquire more skills. I feel what sets me apart from others is my authenticity, I chose to show up as myself and I don’t mask who I am for anyone. I love my unique personality and my quirks, I want that to translate through my craft. I started this journey in 2022, I would say I got here through putting myself out there, simply showing up. I wouldn’t say it was hard, but we all have that inner voice critiquing us and judging us. How I overcame those challenges of my inner critic was doing it anyway. Doing it when scared, in doubt, and through my fear of what would people think. Lessons I learned along the way is that those closest to you won’t always show up in the way you would like, that doesn’t mean they don’t care, but it’s not there space. So transmute that energy into connecting with your community and supporting each other on this journey. Always be your number one fan! What I want the world to know about my story is that I am powerful, I have abundance all around me, and everything works out in divine timing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my friend for sure to Cultivate Food for breakfast, they have amazing vegan options and drinks! A couple places to visit would be iwi fresh spa, it’s plant based skincare and they have a rest spa. Love everything about them. Also piedmont park to ride bikes. and also a paint session. Tap into our creative energy. Sivas has a nice atmosphere, casual and they have good hookah. Planta, the food and drinks are amazing, a great place to try for dinner.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I will give my shoutout to my spirituality, in 2020 everything changed for me. Who and what I thought I was, was all stripped down to it’s rawest form. It has been a high and low journey, filled with belly laughs, cries, happiness, and discovery. This journey has helped me evolve into the woman I am present day and who I was always destined to be, I just had to find her through shadow work and self discovery.
