We had the good fortune of connecting with Alaina Hulett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alaina, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking the risk or a risk has always been a love/hate relationship for me. You simply just have to do it. I never understood this fully until I found my own fear being my biggest problem. When we think about taking risks we worry that it may not be the right decision and that’s okay. You may not always get it right, it won’t be perfect, But the point is you did it. I have found myself missing out on so many opportunities to grow not only for myself but my business as well. You don’t know how far you can go or what you can do until you try, so when I think about this question, the first thing that comes to my mind is just to do it and don’t be afraid . I would’ve never imagined I would have been where I am today had I not simply taken a risk. Whatever it is, whatever it may be, you just have to do it!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Licensed Esthetician in the state of Florida. I started my skincare journey by doing lashes outside of my home. At first it was just something to do because I wanted to show my boyfriend that I can make my own money. I started doing lashes in 2017 and became very popular in my hometown known as Mink Me Jayde for doing lashes, last training, and more. In 2019 I decided to become an aesthetician so that I could further my career in the beauty industry. After school I got my first job as a wax specialist in Jacksonville Florida. I was able to catch on within less than a month and immediately fell in love with it. As a licensed agitation, I continue to explore other beauty services and haven’t been able to maintain and keep my business going here in 2024. It has not been an easy journey but I am proud to say that I am still here. I come from a county town called Mcintosh, Ga and here I am in Jacksonville Florida booked and busy meeting new people and making new business connections. Every day is not a good day for me, but the support from my family, my friends and my clients keep me going.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

If my best friend was in town. I would start her off with a good brunch spot. Jazzy’s of course with bottomless mimosas!

We could do a spa day and receive massages at massage envy, We are pretty simple ladies and enjoy the soft life.

A nail date, with a pedicure, and lash extensions always makes us happy.

We can enjoy Topgolf, Andretti, Sip and paint, Jacksonville jaguars home game downtown, local markets, the orange park mall, movies, car shows, and more

Florida is also known for the beautiful beaches so even just a beach day is always a good go to. The entire strip has food, stores, drinks, and all types of events going on.

Nightlife a nice hookah lounge, a comedy show, local and live concert downtown
