We had the good fortune of connecting with Akeia Keith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Akeia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was to create generational wealth. To establish a life of freedom and moments of happiness where I have a chance to genuinely enjoy life one day at a time. Lastly, creating my own business gives me more access to add value to the lives of others as I serve them from a heart of passion and elite customer service.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a serial entrepreneur. Over the years, I have decided that my income and wealth would have to be developed from more than one stream of income. With this in mind, I have invested time and money in developing my skillset in the area of teaching others in my firearm instruction and education business called, GirlFluence, LLC. I educate every day civilians in being responsible firearm owners as well as providing a safe environment for children and others around them. Akeia Keith, LLC is my motivational speaking brand where I travel the world speaking and adding value to youth and those that work with them. I have a unique way of connecting with the audience by way of story telling and life applications. This experience is transformational. I am excited about my first book entitled, “Be Great, Become Greater.” My book will highlight how to unlock unlimited potential.

Additionally, I have a girls mentorship program entitled, SheRockz, Inc. for girls ages 8 t0 18. We focus on four core values: Entrepreneurship, Self-Esteem, Leadership Skills, and Academics. This platform has allowed me to connect with girls from various backgrounds to make lasting impact. This program has equip girls to enhance they educational experience, develop effective communication skills as well as launch a thriving business, just to name a few.

I have a plethora of state certifications and trainings were I facilitate small groups in such areas of anger management, substance abuse education, behavior modifications, effective communication and educational techniques that can be utilized within the development of positive parent child relationships.

Business-wise, I sought out valuable mentors and coaches to assist me. I have learned that mentors and coaches are an asset to you when building business. I have learned to always find a person that is successfully doing what you would like to do. It will save you a ton of headaches.

I will admit, that no part of my journey was or is easy. I still have to remain focused and determined in order to achieve my goals. I have daily affirmations that I recite and I am strategic with my self care; spas and nature are my go to things for self-care.

Some of the lessons that I have learned along the way would be the following:

Always love your self no matter what
Be intentional, create a schedule for your day
Always seek ways to add value to others

I want the world to know that I have unlocked my unlimited potential and I am becoming greater than I was the day before.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area, we would definitely have to check out a WNBA game if the season is in. We would possibly look into to attending a concert or comedy show at the Fox Theatre or State Farm Arena. We would go and explore some of the waterfalls at Toccoa Falls or Anna Ruby Falls. We would hang out at Ponce City Market and Atlantic Station for food and shopping. If you want a little bit of adventure, you can suit up with a helmet and knee pads and jump on one of the electric scooters in downtown Atlanta and explore the city life all while enjoying the cool breeze and eatery options. Atlanta is filled with exciting things to do. There is always incredible things happening here. This is one of the reasons I’ve lived here for so long. I love it here!!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes there are several people that has played a great part in my success over the years. I would first like to recognize my creator, God. God uniquely designed me to make impact on this Earth. My parents Victor and Ola Keith, they established my foundation of which my tenacity and resilience was created. To my elementary school teacher, P Garrett-Hill in whom I still remain in contact with and one of my high school teachers, Victoria Christman, they both seen my great potential and would not allow me to give them less than. To my best friend, mentor, confidant, spiritual leader, Dr. Francine Riley. She has always contributed value to my life and has my best interest at heart. To my brothers, in whom I love dearly, Diamond Keith and Victor Keith, Sr., they remain my pushers and encouragers. They never allow me to settle for less than I deserve. To my new found community, Jeremy Anderson and the Next Level Speakers Academy, thank you for creating a blueprint for speakers as myself. Lastly, to my group of colleagues and friends that I continue to hold dear to my heart, thank you for your many prayers and encouragement.
