We had the good fortune of connecting with Aishatu Ahmadu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aishatu, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
“Unleash The Goddess Within”

This is the most important factor behind my brand. Being a Goddess/God is fully embracing, and deeply accepting all parts of yourself; celebrating all parts of who you are. It’s the understanding that you are valid everyday you open your eyes. Unleashing the Goddess within is walking in your power, and being the fullest version of yourself. You are unique to this universe and the energy that is you is needed, loved, and adored. My brand is all about empowering people around the world to be themselves at the truest and deepest levels.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Aishatu Ahmadu known as Goddess Musiq is an American Rapper, Songwriter, Speaker, Poet, Author, and Healer who recently released her first official mixtape in June 2021. Her authentic hip-hop story telling style of rap has gained the attention of quite a few industry producers. She simply has the “it” factor. Through bold, and courageous lyrics she tells the world all about her daunting childhood. She first began rapping at the tender age of 12. Her aunt gifted her the “Stillmatic” album by Nas that Christmas, and she fell in love with word play and perfected her craft. At the age of 33 she has become a skilled lyricist. Rapping was and always has been a form of therapy for her. On her project “Creating My Reality” Goddess Musiq is vulnerable about her life going from “doomed” to positive. Her mission is to help others improve their quality of life by changing their perceptions and perspectives, she teaches this method through the universal laws. Goddess Musiq approaches life as a spirit having a human experience, and helps others become the creators in their lives doing the same.

I am super proud of all the noise I’m making. The music I make isn’t exactly popular yet but more and more people are tuning in. I am glad I can bridge the gap between the spiritual, metaphysical, and the physical realm. I relate to people from all walks of life. I get naked on stage with out taking off my clothes.

I am most excited about the expansion of my music. I would love for my children and myself to travel around the world and empower people from all walks of life. I found a pot of gold and I want to share it with as many people as possible. I’m the Healers healer! I’m here to assist the leaders on their rise.

I have been rapping for over 21 years. It took tons of hours in the studio. Tons of hours writing. Tons of hours practicing. Honestly these were long drawn out therapy sessions. Music is what heals me. I have tried to run away from it at every turn, and when it’s all said and done and nothing else works I pick up my pen, and all is well.

The lessons I have learned are far and many, but a few of the most important messages were be myself, trust myself, listen to myself, honor myself, and most of all love myself….love myself first! We all want to be happy, that’s what we are all chasing isn’t it? Love leads me to happiness everytime. I honor the people, things, and ideas I love!

I want the world to know that I am committed to becoming the most compassionate, loving, and aligned version of myself. My goal is to inspire, elevate, and empower the masses. My goal is to help raise the vibration of the human race.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love live music so I would definitely take my friend to High Tea at the little london, Melanin and Mimosas. There is also this cool Jazz piano bar called Eighty Eight Birmingham. The Grand Bohemian Hotel has one of the best brunch buffet I have ever had. Some of my other favorite hang out spots are Turkey Creek, Red Mountain, Moss Rock, Logan Martin Lake, Railroad Park, The Galleria. And the entire Mountain Brook Area.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost I have to give a shoutout to myself for never giving up and being a truth seeker. I had an extremely traumatic upbringing. I could have given up several times, but I healed through it. I would also like to shoutout my 5 children. They were and are my main motivation. I would also like to shoutout my spiritual community. As soon as I began my spiritual journey I became homeless. This lasted for 3 years during this transition my business was born. The teachings, mentoring, and healing I received from my spiritual circle plays a major part of my success. Big shoutout to Mystic Emme Rain, Tasha Matrez, Shaman Raine, Edward Kojack Charles, Alesha Rogers, Randina Marie, Shaman Kelley Kessler, Astrologist Shannon Murray, Natasha Wright of the Wright doula company, and everyone who has ever been connected to me in anyway. Every single person I have encountered has played a major role in my life.
