We had the good fortune of connecting with Aisha Sanders and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aisha, what matters most to you?
I’m really big on respect and integrity. Respect and integrity can take you far, your character enter rooms way before you cross over the threshold. How you carry yourself, treat other people and conduct business speaks volumes. Lacking either can hinder a person in more ways than one both personally and professionally.

What should our readers know about your business?
I founded Teach to Reach Inc (TTR) a nonprofit organization that promotes education, respect and self-awareness amongst inner city youth. Every child regardless of their social and economical status deserves someone to advocate for them, protect them from the ugliness of the world and to provide them with the tools and resources needed to become whoever they wish to be. Recently, TTR partnered with Necco, a local foster agency and sponsored 33 children between the ages of 12-18 for the holiday. We were able to give the kids exactly what they asked for (phones, tablets, Airpods, clothes, gift cards, bikes, makeup etc). It was stressful at times trying to coordinate and ensure all the gifts were delivered on time but the smiles on their faces were worth it! Nonprofit organizations especially small ones like mine struggle to secure funding which can be discouraging at times but I’m thankful that TTR has a small but mighty following that believe in our vision and trust me enough to lead and execute. Because I operate with great integrity TTR has received so many donations that has allowed us to successfully implement every initiative we set out to do in 2020. During these uncertain times people have truly showed up in ways unimaginable. I’ll forever be grateful.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely go shopping, lol. I love North Georgia Premium outlets, I can spend the bulk of my day going in and out stores buying everything in sight. We would also do tourist activities like visiting the Aquarium, World of Coca Cola, Atlanta Botanical Garden and Dr. King’s Historical Park. We love seafood so we would go to Spondivits, Pappadeaux and of course Juicy Crab, their seafood bags are my favorite! Louisiana Bistreaux Seafood Kitchen is really good as well, their Cajun Jambalaya is top notch. During the evenings we would go to Midtown/downtown Atlanta to have drinks, dance or just catch a vibe. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I moved to Georgia four years ago from Cleveland, Ohio and I’ve been extremely blessed to have such an amazing support system both near and far. At times the love is overwhelming. On my lowest days I’ve had the privilege of family, friends even strangers pour love into me and speak positive affirmations over my life. It’s hard to credit one person or even one group because everyone in my life at some point or another has fixed my crown so that when I walked back out into the world I did so confidently. Everything that I have accomplished, everything that is good in me, I owe to them.
