We had the good fortune of connecting with Aerial Sanders and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aerial, what’s the most important think you’ve done for your children?
The most important thing I’ve done to impact my child is to have a dream and go after it. Showing her that she can be anything and do anything by my actions allows her to set goals and strive to accomplish them. As a parent, my job isn’t to tell my child who she will be but to allow her to explore the possibilities of all she can be. It is not limited to one profession or title. My experiences help me show her a different route and encourage her to choose the one that best suits her.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The thing that sets me apart from other fiber artists is my eye for detail. I am always going over and critiquing designs or styles to see what needs to be added or taken away. I am most excited when a piece comes together and a client is in absolutely love with it. Their happiness is definitely a priority in the fashion industry. I got to where I am today by working hard and being consistent. Building bridges and staying true to your word is one of your biggest assets as an entrepreneur. Any time you chase a dream, it will never be easy. Having a great support system, faith in God and the drive to keep going has helped me through tough times. Some important lessons I have learned along the way are “Go with your gut, be assertive and work smart.” My brand is made especially for the client. No matter the style or size, I can make what you need to make you look and feel amazing.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a friend was visiting on a weeklong trip the first place we would hit is a Mellow Mushroom, local pizza joint for some margaritas and great pizza. I love chill spots and that is one of my favorites. We would go to a local park as well. I work most of the week so my time is limited to weekends but it would be more relaxed, maybe have a fun girl’s night in and catch up on some good times.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This shoutout goes to God. No matter how much I doubt myself, God always shows me I’m better. I continue to level up. I appreciate the struggle, without it I wouldn’t know how strong I really am. God pushes me to be amazing when I’m working because His plans for me are greater than I can imagine. It’s that promise of keeping the path to victory that makes me go so hard. So I want to thank God for everything. He is one of of my biggest motivators.
