Meet Adrian Newland | Owner of Painting With a Twist Buckhead & The Jar Bar ATL

If you are a Business Owner in any capacity right now we are all risk takers. People only see the glamorous side of entrepreneurship because of the highlights on social media, however it’s so much more. Risk taking has played such an important part of my career because I am not afraid to try something new. I am not afraid to learn something new and then to apply it to my life or business. I am also not afraid to step out on faith and expect amazing results. Let’s be honest, failure is a realistic part of risk taking, but believing in yourself, having balance, and being consistent, can surprise you every time.

Painting with a Twist in Buckhead is a paint and sip art experience with drinks, music and more. We have been in the Buckhead area for over 7 years. What sets me apart from others is that this brand was the first ever paint and sip in the US. This was started as a way to bring business back to the community after hurricane Katrina. So basically, we are the Versace of paint and sips. At my location, I pride myself in providing exceptional customer and making sure my artists are able to enjoy their job, have fun and be themselves. I feel extremely blessed to still be selling out classes during a pandemic, there were moments during quarantine that I didn’t know if or how we would recover from this. It was not easy, but we stuck together and got creative and started providing a virtual paint and sip option so people could enjoy painting classes from the safety of their own homes. It was a HIT! Then as we opened slowly, we continued to offer the virtual option for those not quite ready to be around a lot of people. Having faith and staying passionate is what helped us make a full recovery back to our in-studio success. Our brand speaks for itself, people trust us and they know that we value them and their safety over everything else.

OMG all I do is dine! Listen, if you are looking for an elevated fine dining experience like none other in the city you must visit, Steak Market, from the decor, the vibe and the food it will be an experience you will never forget. Then you have to visit Rock Steady if you are looking for some of the best Caribbean food and some good music and folks that actually still dance, dine at the lower level and then go upstairs to catch a vibe and sweat your makeup off. Now you know we love a good brunch so you have to check out Toast on Lenox, it is the best brunch in the city. I have been so many times and the food is so mouth watering you will take a bite before you’re able to capture the pic for social media. You must check out Cascade if you’ve never been, come on a busy weekend to see some of the best skaters in the country. If there is time, please drive up to Dahlonega and visit the Cavender Creek Vineyards and the Montaluche Winery the wine is delicious, the hospitality is superb and the views are breathtaking. There is always something to do in Atlanta, that’s why I love it here.

Well although she is no longer living, She is now my guardian angel. My mom will always be my greatest influence. She has always supported my creativity and career choices and was the one who told me to go for it when starting my Painting with a Twist journey. She would be so amazed to see how far I have come with this company today. She would be proud.
