We had the good fortune of connecting with Adia Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adia, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I grew up going to dance class and I stuck with it for over 10 years so with that comes a lot of glitz and glam. Getting pretty, and wearing makeup and glitter has always brought me joy. With dance comes creative expression and that creative expression spilled over into being able to work with my hands to make things look beautiful. It was kind of a no-brainer for me to be creative because my creativity started at a young age.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started bedazzling my clothing in high school wanting to stand out from the crowd and it turned into an obsession. Since starting my business, I have made it my business to make sure each customer has a great experience from start to finish and take pride in making sure that each customer gets exactly what they ask for. It took a lot of long nights, constant research, and a lot of trial and error to get where I am. The hardest part was realizing that I couldn’t please everybody who requested my services. I had to learn that it’s okay to say no and that what’s meant for you will always be for you. People will always pay for what they want and never sell yourself short to make a sale. I want the world to know that SassyStonesATL is here to boost your confidence by enhancing your look and assisting you in standing out from the crowd.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was here for a week we’d have an itinerary filled with patronizing black owned businesses. Starting with Truth Breakfast Bar and Grill in Fayetteville for brunch. We’d visit the MLK center as well as different sites around the city. For dinner, we’d go to VVS for the music, drinks, hookah, and most importantly the food.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my small tribe of friends and close family members who recognized my talent and continued to push me when I was ready to let it go. They give me that extra boost to go the extra mile for my customers.
