We had the good fortune of connecting with Abby Akins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Abby, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always known from a young age I wanted to be an artist. In fact, I went to art school at Georgia Southern University (GATA). After going through breast cancer from 2021-2022 and now a recovering addict, I knew time was of the essence so I launched my art business finally after 14 years,

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

After beating breast cancer in 2022 and now a recovering addict, I knew time was of the essence so I finally took my Art History degree I earned in 2009 and put it into motion. I create art, specifically pottery, in a refreshing, simple and modern light. Each piece is carefully hand-crafted with love in its own space in time and no piece is identical.

Minimal/abstract pottery – they are delicate and simple pieces that speak volumes in a room. Less is more.

As I continue to grow and expand on my craft, I hope you will follow along ✨

My art teachers/professors from both high school and college and of course my family. They are my biggest champions.
