We had the good fortune of connecting with AARON ROBEY and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi AARON, how do you define success?
My definition of success is executing and completing any project or task that I have started. I”m a firm believer in finishing what you started by all and any means. In the past, when I did not complete a given task that I set out for, it vexed me deeply. Failure to me is never a true failure if I’m putting in 100 percent effort. Learning from mistakes and following your vision from inception to a finished product, is the ultimate teacher. The bonus to your success can be monetary, popularity, and/or fame, but this should never be your driving force for anything in life.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m very excited about my current and future projects in film. The creative side of my brain is always burning, and I have always wanted to be on both sides of the camera. After years of acting and auditing, I’m now in the position the produce, direct, and star in my own projects, as well as starring in international films. Acting, as with any other profession, is grueling. It’s hard to get into and harder to maintain work. The journey was a constant struggle. You must have very thick skin to take rejection and survive in the industry. I have taught myself, to immediately move on to the next, once you are finished with anything you do. Whether positive or negative, continue to move forward and never look back. This process has helped me stay consistent, with a fierce passion to continue with what’s on the agenda next. I don’t want to sound cliche, but if I can reach my dreams, anyone on this planet can. Stay focused and put on your horse blockers. Success will find you.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is a very interesting place, with everything that you can imagine. I love art. So my first location would be the High Museum in Midtown. They always have interesting exhibits on display, from sneakers to per-world war artifacts. Six Flags Over GA is always a win. I can’t imagine anyone not having a crazy time at that park. Road Atlanta is one of my favorites. To be able to thrash a car to its limit without going to jail is one hell of an experience. I suggest anyone that has the itch to drive fast, check it out. As for food, you can’t go wrong with Geno’s Pizza. I have had many interesting nights in Atlanta that have ended in this pizzeria.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Over the past 3 or 4 years, I have had an interest in marketing myself across platforms. In the beginning, as with any project, it’s not easy. From SEO, metadata, and analytics, the key to successfully marketing yourself is understanding how data is used to help put you in front of millions. Google is always helpful in researching different techniques, but unless you know what you’re looking for, it’s very confusing. As my search continued, I came across a book by Adam Clarke, SEO 2019. The information in this publication is perplexing, but once you get familiar with its content, the light bulb goes off in your head. Very rarely in my experiences that I have come across information that actually works in the real world. In this day and age, information from individuals is completely saturated everywhere. Having a guide that allows you to level up on your competition or online authority in general, will allow you to achieve success. I have achieved great success with the guidance I received in this book, and for this, Adam Clarke deserves this shoutout.
