We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Moon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aaron, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
People. That’s THE factor! I have such a genuine love of people. I feel photography allows me to see the best within people, of overall humanity. I’m so honored to be able to capture moments that can never again be replicated. And for this to be my life is beyond humbling.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I discovered my passion for photography around 16 years ago. I knew I enjoyed it at first but the passion continued to build with the more time I spent behind the lens. I began to truly see people, to see landscape in a different way, to find beauty in the simplest of things, and of moments. I feel a photograph can bring joy, maybe pain, but overall truth. To create is to live at this point in my life. I am so grateful that this is my living … and that it doesn’t even feel like work.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh my gosh, Atlanta is so amazing! There’s so much to do. If I had to build an itinerary these would be my go-t0’s …

– Huge baseball fan: Atlanta Braves game with half day at The Battery. So much to explore there.
– Atlanta United: surprisingly fun experience. Attending my first game established my love for soccer (football).
– If just touristy: of course World of Coke, Aquarium (the staples), a show at the Fox, Skyview, and I love everything about Krog Street, etc.
– Food wise: Ponce City Market (sooo many options). Hops Chicken may be my favorite sandwich ever! Sandy Springs has Clays Sports Bar and Grill. To this day that’s my favorite wings in Atlanta. Mary Macs is a staple as well as it’s the epitome of some good southern. I also feel anyone visiting Atlanta for the first time The Varsity is a must … just so you can say you’ve experienced it. If a sweet tooth, Sublime Doughnuts is definitely a go-to. Lastly, got to give a shoutout to Marietta Diner. Such amazing food, people, and atmosphere.
– We also have Avalon and Halcyon. Whatever you want these spots have. Food, shopping, movies, etc. Great local scene.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout has to be my mentor, Mr. Daniel Ryan Duggar. He not only taught me the camera but gave me ample opportunities to grow in the craft. Mr. Duggar changed my world. As far as encouragement, it may sound cliché but my family, my friends, my community. The support I’ve received throughout this journey is simply astounding.
