Meet Aaliyah Strong | Founder of Tyme to Thrive Beyond Grief / Community Leader & Activist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaliyah Strong and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaliyah, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want to be remembered for being a CATALYST for change in this world !
I want to be remembered as a woman who never kept quiet in the face of injustice.
I want to be remembered as a woman who inspired CHANGE.
I want to be remembered as a woman who was never afraid to speak her truth , even if it was the unpopular thing to do.
I want to be remembered as a woman who overcame everything meant to destroy her.
I want to be remembered as a GREAT mother , a GREAT friend , & a GREAT person.
100 years from now I want other young girls to aspire to INSPIRE .
I’m not sure if I will be remembered, but I want people to know that I CARED . I genuinely CARED for people.
One of my favorite quotes by Maya Angelou is “If you’re going to live , leave a legacy. Make a mark on the world that can’t be erased.” I plan on doing JUST THAT. I hope that my organization can assist millions of families one day !

What should our readers know about your business?
The trauma of Gun Violence does not end when the shooting stops. Yet, America’s culture of silence around this issue means that more than often we do not fully understand the lifelong impact on survivors and their loved ones. Many survivors of Gun Violence are often unable to access healthcare and other forms of support due to catastrophic medical expenses and excessive bureaucracy. Tyme to Thrive Beyond Grief aims to break all barriers , as it pertains to families having eligibility and equity for resources after being impacted by Gun Violence .
How did I get here ? Well, here’s the simple answer ; by the Grace of God. I wish I could give you a road map to my success , but honestly there isn’t . My pain ! I experienced a pain so unimaginable, my heart acheddd, it still does . However , I knew that threw what I experienced I had a much higher calling in this world !
I know for a fact , Tyshon is smiling over me and watches over me each and every step of the way! I do this for him. I do this for every fiancé , mother , son , father , friend , cousin , ANYONE who has lost a loved one to Gun Violence !
I am our voices ! Their pain is my pain !
The biggest lesson I’ve learned through this journey thus far is “ Don’t take life or people for granted . Use your time here on earth for good! “
I want the world to know that I am not a SHATTERED WOMAN . I am a woman who God has called for a higher purpose !
Tyshon is forever missed … and in the words of Nipsey Hussle “ The Marathon Continues “

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank Jacquel & Keith for supporting me from Ground 0. From the moment I met them , they have truly supported me in ways that I can never thank them enough for. Thank you for believing in me , even when I couldn’t / didn’t believe in myself . Thank you for encouraging me to keep going ! Truly , THANK YOU!
I want to thank a dear friend Ashley ! This woman has helped in ways that I could never repay her for ! Any event , any paperwork , anything I needed she has been there ! She never asked or expected anything in return and truly has been God sent . When no one showed up, she ALWAYS showed up ! And for that I am forever grateful !
