We had the good fortune of connecting with A-List Papi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi A-List, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I feel that the word risk is just another word for decision. In its simplest form is what life boils down to, decisions/risk. Of course some decisions are riskier than others but nothing is promised except checkout time. Forbid not risking the pursuit of your gifts and ideas while time permits. If you don’t play you will lose. Right when I may question my decisions/risk i am reminded of the process thus far and manifestation/reward always reveals itself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe that my uniqueness is not to be understood by everyone which alone sets me apart from others. Im most proud of the reflection in the mirror of what I’ve become “a father, a husband, a boss, an artist, loyal & respected” and most excited about what i am becoming “established, recognized, screen writer, designer & talent developer”. A balance between being consistent and ginuwine has presented me the opportunities to perform professionally. Hell no it hasn’t been easy & wont be anytime soon. It helps when that one stranger, that one fan or that one appearance that propels you into the moments after presenting your craft. Some days are better than others which makes the great, great. I’ve learned to remain humble and perform with extreme confidence. You never know who or what is for you or against you in the room. I want the world to know that i am a recording artist from all over Atlanta, Georgia that goes by the name “A-List Papi” and “A-List” is not just a brand, its the only way and is what i stand on.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First stop Stankonia studios for new music mondays and push up on Coalition Dj’s and the Dungeon Family first. Monday night Magic City after. Tuesday the Our Bar Atl with 40oz-po and DJ Fye-me-up good vibe, food and drinks. Wednesday’s i usually book a recording session with @Kinggriot at @Landmarkstudios in midtown after some early bouncing around the city. Fogo De Chao Brazilian Steakhouse after blowing a bag in Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza. Thursday go see an art exhibit at the High Art Museum then probably Miami Lounge or Ace of clubs. Friday the Rose bar after lamb chops at Allora in Atlantic Station. Saturday day probably a car and bike show then take the party with me to the Midtown Beach Club. Last but not least Shake Off Sundays at Club Lacura after Live music concert in Piedmont park.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Most of all my family. No journey, no destination. They are the ones with me in the dark providing light in ways of effort, support, mentorship, love and encouragement. All the reason to push for greatness and for that they will continue to be recognized.
