We had the good fortune of connecting with 6Line and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi 6Line, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea actually chose me. I got my interest in plants first as a child going upstate to visit my father, but my grandmother was the roots of my interest. She would have me water her house plants. When I hit 23 years old she past away and I would relieve my stress in the garden I was volunteering at. Grew mostly food until i randomly got flower seeds and grew them. When they blossomed I cut them and made a bouquet. It just felt good. Felt like a missing puzzle piece.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My most proud and exciting project I have is my non profit called Concrete Jungle. Im building a community garden that I designed. It will serve the community with food, classes, and events.

I got here because of my community, hard work, consistency, drive, and will to learn and succeed. It was and still hard today. With challenges of life like the pandemic, terrible government but also creative blocks. Trying to balance a unpredictable career, community garden, and mental health life it alot of work but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Bronx for sure. We get a lot of hate cause how it was in the 70s-90s were kinda bad. It’s still a little iffy but has changed a lot. I would take them to Empanology, Mottley, & the Bronx Brewery. Amazing places.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to The Bronxer. He’s an amazing Photographer, videographer, graffiti artist, and digital artist. Worked with him countless of times and his works is extremely impactful
