We had the good fortune of connecting with 3lcaro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi 3LCARO, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve had a passion for music since childhood. I can still remember beating on pots and pans before I even knew what a rhythm was. As I got older, I started DJing and producing my own beats in 2013, which deepened my connection to music. In high school, I also joined the marching and concert band, and that experience further cemented my love for the art form.

However, it wasn’t until 2017 that I fully committed to pursuing music seriously. I was in a serious accident that left me with no cognitive function, unable to walk or talk properly. During my recovery, I was introduced to music therapy, which became the key to my rehabilitation. It helped me regain my cognitive abilities and motor skills, and I owe my recovery to music. It truly changed my life in ways I never imagined.

That’s why I’m so passionate about pursuing a creative career—I want to use music the way it was used for me: to heal, inspire, and bring joy to others. I’ve experienced firsthand the transformative power of music, and now I want to share that with the world.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
For me, my music is all about authenticity. I believe in creating something that’s true to who I am and that resonates with others. It’s not about chasing trends or trying to fit into a mold—it’s about being genuine and staying connected to what truly inspires me. And I think that’s what sets me apart from others in this space: I’m not just producing music; I’m telling my story and inviting others into it.

After recovering from a serious accident, I went all-in on music production. I convinced my brother, jrich4real to start making music as well and produced for him; then I started collaborating with a variety of artists, like Benton (formerly known as Yung Meme), and I’ve had the privilege of working with major producers like DJ Speedy, who has worked with artists like Beyoncé. I spent countless hours traveling from studio to studio, grinding to get my name out there and make connections. I made sure engineers knew me so that if an artist was looking for a beat, I’d be the one they reached out to.

Looking back, I remember recording my first tracks in my bedroom closet, and I’ve come a long way from those humble beginnings. It wasn’t always easy, though—there were times when I felt like I was plateauing, and I even considered quitting. But I stayed focused, true to myself, and kept networking. I realized that success in this business isn’t just about talent; it’s about building relationships and surrounding yourself with the right people. That’s a huge lesson I’ve learned: it’s not a solo journey. It takes a team to make things happen.

What I want the world to know about my brand and my story is that I’m proof of what perseverance and staying true to your vision can do. I’ve faced setbacks, but I kept pushing forward, and that’s the message I want to share. Never stop short—keep going, keep grinding, and you’ll make it to the top. I’m excited for what the future holds and can’t wait to see where this journey takes me, and those who believe in the process, too.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d definitely want to give them a mix of iconic spots and local gems to really get a feel for the area. We’d start with some of the city’s top attractions, like a visit to Bank of America Stadium (home of the Panthers), the Spectrum Center (where the Hornets play), and the Bojangles’ Coliseum. These venues not only showcase the city’s love for sports and entertainment, but they also give a sense of the energy and passion that drives this place. I think they’d be totally blown away by the atmosphere and the pride people have in these teams.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I want to express my deep gratitude to God. Everything I have and everything I’ve been able to accomplish is because of His guidance and blessings. Without Him, none of this would be possible.

Next, I have to give a huge shoutout to my fiancée, Emmie, and my family—my mother and father, Amber and Kenyatta, and my siblings, Joshua, Matthias, and Keziah. They are my rock and my constant source of support. They lift me every single day, and their love and encouragement are what keep me going, even through the toughest times.

Lastly, I want to recognize my A-1 management team, QB and Midas. Their dedication and belief in my vision have played a pivotal role in helping me get to where I am today. They’ve been with me through thick and thin, always pushing me to be my best.

So, whether it’s my faith, my family, or my team, I owe so much of my success to the people who’ve stood by me and helped me grow.
