We had the good fortune of connecting with Marquis Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marquis, how do you think about risk?
Risk simply put, is fear. Often times we fear the unknown. We fear that things may not work out favorably. We fear that we may fail. We make whatever fears we have real by dwelling on them, which then keeps up from taking risk(s). I continuously remind myself that the Life I Want To Live, is on the other side of fear. So I don’t allow fear to stop me, I take whatever necessary risk(s) required.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I create & curate Young Professional event, connecting good people with good people. That’s my mission. I accomplish that by one simple phrase “People don’t care how much you know, Til they know how much you care”. I live my life & run my business by that. That’s been my blueprint to success. People. How you treat people & make people feel either opens up doors for you, or it closes doors on you. If You Want Blessings, Be One.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Atlanta has so many attractions & things to do. Some of my favorite spots: *Food (Slutty Vegan, Hattie B’s Hot Chicken, Tom Dick & Hank, Le Petit Marche & Little Alley Steak) *Drinks (Rose Bar, Oak Atlanta, & Escobar) *Hangouts (Atlantic Station & The Battery) -Nature & Views (Roswell Mill Waterfall) -Bicycling (Atlanta Beltline)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout & thanks is to everyone that has spoken kinds word into my life, took a moment to pray for me, took a moment to check on me & that genuinely loves, encourages & supports me. Thank you! Sincerely!
