We had the good fortune of connecting with Kierra Mariah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kierra, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I get asked this question all the time! In this industry, it’s all about taking risk. It’s a HUGE risk. You’re not promised anything in this life. You have to trust yourself to know that this is what your calling is. If you don’t take risk, you’ll be stuck in the same position you are one year from now. I put all of my trust in God and trust that He won’t let me fall.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started modeling about 3 years ago. It was always my dream to model. I love taking pictures, capturing the moment, and telling stories. It was for sure not easy, this profession is not for the weak. You have to have tough skin and learn not to take everything personal. You have to show up and show out every time! You have to believe in yourself and show others who want the same thing, that you belong here too. Everyone was made uniquely different. We are all different in our own way and that’s what makes us beautiful.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had to take my friends anywhere in the city it would be top golf! I also enjoy going to collaboration events for creatives like myself!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Well first and foremost, all glory to God. Without Him, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I have to give a shoutout to my family especially my mother who has stuck by me throughout my journey. The journey wasn’t easy and it’s not going to get easier, but when you’re surrounded by people who love and support you, anything is possible.
