Meet Jessica Harvin | Master Cosmetologist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Harvin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, how do you think about risk?
I think risk taking in life is necessary. We have these desires in our heart to be something great and at some point we have to believe in our self and follow that desire. Once I truly learned to trust God and believe in my dreams, taking a risk was easy.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Classic Glam is being beautiful in your own way. When I think of something classic, I think quality and timeless. That’s the service I like to bring to my clients. To always provide a calming space and quality service. God has destined me to lift spirits and encourage others to love whatever part of them that shows up, and that sets me apart. Opening my own salon suite has not been easy because I don’t have a mentor so I’m learning a lot a long the way, but I’m grateful. Through it all I’m succeeding and I’m learning that God will always make a way if you show up. Even when you can’t see it or understand how it’s going to happen, show up and let God do the rest.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The beautiful thing about Atlanta is that you can go out any night of the week. I would definitely have to take them to a Hawks game, I always enjoy that vibe. Ponce City Market, would be a great night to enjoy games and drinks on the roof top. Maybe, catch a Braves game and then bar hop at the Battery.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family deserves this shoutout. At times when I wanted to give up, they encouraged me to keep going. They have always supported me. From coming to be my model when I was in cosmetology school. To making appointments and actually paying for the service once my salon opened. They keep me motivated, and always remind me of how great I am.
