We had the good fortune of connecting with Issac Cruz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Issac, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought behind the process was more of giving myself a challenge, was working for companies doing all the work and knowing I can provide better service and quality is when I decided to start my own home renovation company. Like everything it was a roller coaster to start and get to know things on your own was the biggest challenge. Thinking about it and going through is the biggest step you have to commit to your self first before doing anything. One thing I enjoy about it all is that I don’t fell like I’m working.. like mentally because, I love what I do and everyday is a new challenge so I’m excited to get started on the next project, meet new people, traveling and just so much that comes with that I enjoy and doesn’t feel like I’m getting dragged to go to work. Never thought I’ll be here where I am with my business not big but for it just myself I’m proud of it and if you ask me where I’m going with it well to the top one day.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
A home renovation company that I started myself, to provide better prices and great quality, one thing that customers like about my service is that I can do it all with having to find multiple contractors. Also I do most of the work so I Make sure its done right because that’s my name on it and most of my work comes from recommendation so that’s key to me. Learning how to price jobs and taking on bigger projects was the challenge for me but slowly got more comfortable. Making mistakes is normal its how you take them and learn from them to avoid them in the future. When COVID hit it was a shock to all of us. Had to change it up a little and decided to sell food with my brother also knowing the condition we were in COVID we sent it and thankfully was a big success which now its known as “Chef Smokey’s”. So Balancing 2 business with the help of my brother is my challenge and I enjoy it because its what I love to do

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well it’s all In who’s visiting there’s so much to do, during the week chill spots like river water falls/ hikes, going to Botanical Garden, Getting A City Pass is a must, Weekend there’s fun spots like “flight Club” to have some drinks and games or some golf swings at “top golf”, going to an Atlanta Untied Game is good time, a rooftop lunch at “Spaceman”. And of course going by all the historical places that Atlanta Has. To finish off with Magic City to go for the best wings and the experience

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It’s like who isn’t there to Shoutout… I feel bless to surround myself with all the people I’ve met and came across, A few of course My brother always there when I need him and pushes me more to bigger things. Lock’d in Construction & Environment has helped me in business and personal life situations and has been like family since day one, and all my Friends with their own business gives me encouragement that no matter what you do as long as your committed and love what you do it’ll be a success. With that being said SHOUTOUT to the boys at ‘Roadshow tires” to the family at “the Normal Barber shop” The Trejo brothers doing big moves “Trejo automotive and towing” ‘Trejo Soccer League” Milly with her creative hands “Amillicraftycreation” all friends and young business owners in which shows that we can make it to the top.
