Our community is comprised of entrepreneurs and artists and creatives – folks who have chosen incredibly difficult professional paths that often don’t offer any safety nets or guarantees. Nonetheless, we regularly hear that being a parent is a far greater challenge and so we asked some of these folks to open up to us about the things they’ve done as parents that they feel will have a meaningful and positive impact on their child.

I think the thing I’ve tried to do as a parent more than anything is to bring my kids along with me any chance I get, allowing them to see me chasing my dreams and working hard at something I love to do. I’m a mother of 5. The Fav5 as the world know them. The have been my greatest inspiration. My biggest motivators. The worst critics lol but yet my number one fans. They’ve helped aspire me to be GREAT. One of the most important things I’ve done to impact their lives was by just by simply being a Mother. They see me work hard to keep my businesses elevating, my image together, my energy vibrant despite the bad days, my hair done and lashes on never looking exhausted or wore out, the smile I keep on my face no matter the circumstances, the food that’s prepared for them through the tears of frustration.
