Two things I like to live by are: 1. “Orbis non Sufficit” 2. “Regret is Unprofessional” Starting with “Orbis non Sufficit” is Latin for The world is not enough. Meaning no matter what is offered to me if it doesn’t Align with my beliefs and goals it doesn’t matter if it is gold or the world it’s self I won’t take it or deal with it. Regret is Unprofessional really touched me especially when I was in the army and also a firefighter. The decision you make wether be for your career or someone’s life you should make with confidence. Very few days go by that I don’t think of the Mary Oliver quote, “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” For me, I’ve always been deeply aware of time, how it passes, and how it can’t be brought back. When a moment passes us by, how will we remember it? When a loved one leaves this plane, what is left behind? I think that’s partly how I found my love of photography.
