We had the good fortune of connecting with Candace Waters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Candace, what do you attribute your success to?
I would have to say my authenticity. Social media has taught us to “ fake it until we make it.” So everyone is on the apps pretending to have it all together and suffering behind closed doors. I am fully transparent, no hiding because you never know how your honesty can heal someone else. I’ve gotten to where am I today but telling the truth, failing and not be afraid to try something new.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Everything keeps me busy. I currently work a full time job in addition to creating content. So when I’m not creating content  or public speaking, I am trying to excel at work, and keep myself updated on trends.  It can be rather difficult at times but I’m making it work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My bestfriend and I never plan we usually just go with the flow. We love brunch and a festival so either one of those will do.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to shout-out every single follower. Every time I wanted to quit they always remind me of my WHY. Also my family, friends and of course Winston Salem State University. My Alma Mater always taught me that we depart to serve, and you can serve with your gifts and talents.
