We had the good fortune of connecting with Brien Andrews and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brien, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
One of the most important lessons that I’ve learned in my business/career as an individual is the value of perseverance. Success is rarely achieved without facing obstacles and setbacks, and it’s essential to keep pushing forward despite these challenges. It’s important to learn from failures, adapt to change, and never give up on your goals. Perseverance helps build resilience, determination, and the ability to overcome adversity, which are essential qualities for success in any career. Ultimately, the lesson of perseverance teaches us that success is not just about talent or luck, but also about hard work and a willingness to persist in the face of obstacles. Giving up is not an option.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am currently releasing my 4th single April 28th entitled, “Atmosphere” featuring Jermaine Morgan. I am proud of this single and where I am in my journey. It’s a testament of not giving up and staying consistent. It wasn’t easy but with the help of others that believed in and pushed me helped me to overcome the challenges. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned along the way is that you can’t do life alone. You need a community of individuals with like minds to walk with you, advise and give guidance. I want the world to be encouraged by my music.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The great thing about Atlanta, there’s always something to do here.
Day 1: Visit popular attractions such as the local museum, aquarium, or botanical garden. Grab lunch at a one of Atlanta’s oldest restaurants, Mary Mac’s.
Day 2: Spend the day exploring other attractions such as Coca Cola museum and Centennial park where we would have a picnic lunch in a scenic location.
Day 3: Take a day trip to unique attractions, such as a Six Flags and The MLK Center. Try some new foods and visit some popular restaurants.
Day 4: Attend a local event, such as a festival, concert at the Fox or City Winery, or catch sporting event.
Day 5: Take a day to relax and recharge. Enjoy a leisurely dinner at a classy restaurant.
Day 6: Spend the day exploring the city’s art galleries, antique shops, or other unique attractions.
Day 7: Take a scenic drive around the city. Enjoy a final meal at my favorite restaurant, PF Changs before saying goodbye to my best friend.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
While my experience has taught me many valuable lessons, I must give credit to one of my mentors, Willie Bradley, who provided invaluable guidance and is responsible for my presence on smooth jazz radio. His expertise in the field, his willingness to share his knowledge, resources, and his unwavering support have been instrumental in my success. I must also give credit to another mentor/spiritual advisor and best friend Anthony Green. His invaluable guidance, unlimited hours of encourage and advice that money can’t buy. I am also grateful to my wife and kids, who unselfishishly and sacrficially allowed me to develop and spend countless hours of preparation and many years of traveling. They are normally the first to hear the musical ideas from its birth until completion. Without their support, this task would not have been possible. Finally, I must acknowledge my parents, my siblings, my pastor, Rev. Cynthia Hale and the Ray of Hope Christian family, all the artists and musician supporters I’ve shared the stage with and has pour into me. Thank you!
