We had the good fortune of connecting with Daiyzah Glenn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daiyzah, what matters most to you?
Ever since I was younger, I was told to “treat others the way you want to be treated.” So, for my business, customer service is a main priority. Of course quality products are my first goal, but building a relationship with my customers and being able to rely on them for feedback is important to me. Why? Because they’re the reason my brand is growing. They’re the reason why I have clientele and why the purpose behind my brand still exist. I’ve always thought of business as a serving factor, so to see other individuals happy to receive their orders and empowered afterwards, is bittersweet. So in everything that I do, I make it my priority to receive feedback from my customers and work on ways I can improve in the customer service aspect. And also, I got frustrated with receiving bad customer service from other businesses so that also fuels my reasoning as to why it’s important.
What should our readers know about your business?
Blazor Apparel is a clothing line created to empower and motivate Trailblazors through clothing. Each design from this clothing brand stems from different growth periods in my life where I had to motivate myself into growing. Every design says something whether it’s owning who you are as a trailblazor or saying how you feel through your shirt. I’m honestly excited to see the growth of my company overall. My professionalism stems from my prior experience in customer service mixed with what I’ve experienced with my specific target audience. I analyze both the positive and negative feedback I receive from customers and tailor all my actions to providing a better experience for my customers.
This was not easy as I had to unlearn so many tactics that I thought would be helpful, but I’m grateful to have built a relationship with my customers. Im still learning and I’m proud to be okay with learning and adjusting. Entrepreneurship isn’t a straight road. So if I was to be sitting in front of someone right now who have never heard of Blazor Apparel, I would leave them with this “Being a Blazor is an experience and not a trend.” Being a Blazor is more than just representing a clothing line… it’s about You, your growth, your consistency, your dedication to wanting more for yourself, your purpose. Everyone has the opportunity to be a Blazor, but not everyone embraces the experience and go through the obstacles that create success.
I’m glad to have come this far and build this brand, but there is more to get done and it will get done.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m stuck between options. I would definitely take my friend to different places to give them a different feel for Atlanta. A lot of people think Atlanta is just filled with restaurants and etc. but there’s a lot about Atlanta that I enjoy.
I would definitely want them to experience:
– Brusters (My favorite ice cream spot)
– A Piece of Cake
– Metro Diner
– Grip’s Good Eats & Sweets
– The Selfie Museum
-East Palisades Trail and Bamboo Forest
– Mall of Georgia
– The Aquarium
– Starlight Drive-In
– Cascade
– Fun World or Six Flags
– The Beltline
– Piedmont Park
– Jejus
– Satto
– The AUC Center (Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College and Morehouse College)
These are really the options that are at the top of my head, but you can literally meet people anywhere. Atlanta is an amazing place to visit if you want to be surrounded by different cultures of people. Homecoming for HBCUs are my favorite though, so hopefully they come around that time lol The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my team, my friends, my family, my ministry and also my customers. I wouldn’t be where I am now without the constant support and pushing. Getting here was challenging as I was maintaining both college, two businesses and other responsibilities. But because of my mindset and support system, I kept going. It’ll all pay off one day, but until I get there, I will continue to improve in areas that need improving.
