We had the good fortune of connecting with Quintessa Solomon-Hardy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Quintessa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After 10 years+ in business for myself and receiving my bachelors in Psychology and masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and Case Management, I wanted to create a business that would align with my field of study. My thought process behind starting my business was the desire to give others what I did not have when I initially started my business. Creating a business coaching and consulting company for service professionals and entrepreneurs was my way of giving tools and resources to help them build the personal and professional skills they need to operate a successful business. I have always had a desire to help others, so through my mental health background I am fully capable of helping curate a stronger mindset for my clients looking to expand their business territory and make a better lifestyle for themselves.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a school-based mental health therapist servicing children with mental health diagnosis. I am so excited to now be a contributing factor to the development of the youth in such a vigorous way. I am so proud that I can give another child what I needed growing up and make an impact on their future. I honestly got to this point professionally by always setting the bar high in my career and never settling. It was not easy being the first one in my family to become a member of an elite group and receive a masters degree with no guidance walking into these opportunities for advancement. I come from to brilliant parents that always gave me the support and love I needed, but my level of aspirations became far beyond their plan for my life. I overcame challenges by continuing personal development even when no one was watching, training my mind to see far beyond my fears and doubts. I have learned that the “real world” does not wait on you, and its up to you to give you the life you desire. I want the world to know that I am just like them and I have a desire to motivate thousands of people to reach for their dreams just like I am doing. My brand wants to send the message to never give up and we have all the resources and tools you need to thrive in your lane!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them downtown.
First we would have “cocktails and conversations” which would be the unpacking of bags and getting ready to hit the town
Next visit a nice outdoor garden area we have catching up on life, etc
Then out on the town for dinner and drinks maybe Mexican
Then I would take them to a nice brunch and shopping
Next site seeing downtown and then off to a axe throwing place
Then dinner a nice restaurant for seafood
Next we would eat breakfast and then be off to a selfie museum and grab lunch at an Italian place
A spa date for massages and nail treatments
Pajama night and order dinner in for some much needed girl time
Next I would take them to a popular city and do some exploring
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First God, My husband, children and family. I wanted to highlight my HBCU The Fort Valley State University for love and support dedicated to my future aspirations and preparing me for the way I will be seen in the “real world”. My sorority Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for teaching me to always shine bright, uplift women around me, and no matter how far I go always give back.
