We had the good fortune of connecting with Shanteria Echols and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shanteria, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The single most important decision I made that contributed to my success was staying committed to my profession. Every since I started I never stopped I pushed through my slow days, my good days and even my bad days where I didn’t get any clientele. I post on my business page everyday. I make presentations and visuals of products and customers. While staying on top of inventory and legal documents.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is based on uplifting each and every customer (Shannbabe) and boosting them with confidence or more confidence. My business is made to help others feel comfortable and okay in their own skin no matter what they look like. What set my business aside from others is that is it built on ambition. How I got to where I am today took patience and commitment. Everything don’t happen how you want to in a blink of an eye, it takes time. You have to go through trials and tribulations, practice, and mess ups to learn and do better than when you first started. I took my time, I change up things as I go, I correct flaws and make sure I put my customers first. I stayed true to my business and myself by not giving up. People always ask me, “Is it easy?”. No, times get hard but I’m a fighter and I was raised to never give up, have faith in God, speak positive and I will receive positive. When times get hard I stop I accept the circumstances and then I evaluate the issue of me not moving forward and then I tackle the issue at hand. I don’t let hard times defeat me, I always work my way through my problems by using my resources and ability to come out stronger once I overcome difficult obstacles. A lesson I’ve learned along my way of success was to accept that nothing will ever be perfect the first try and to always keep going even when I feel discouraged. I want the world to know that TheRealShann Cosmetics is brand that stands on originality and is capable of taking over the beauty industry. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
While I have been on my journey I have had some really great family and friends on my team. I want to first and foremost thank my mom, Rosalyn Davis. She is my biggest supporter, she always make sure I’m staying on top of things and providing help with the legal perspective of my business. She owns her own business as a virtual assistant called “Luxe Business Solutions”. I used her business to help with mine. She is awesome at what she do and she make sure each and every persons she comes in contact with is set for anything. I want to also give a shout-out to my little sister, Matrevia Davis. She is a young and upcoming hairstylist at the age of 18. “Trapped by Tre” is the name of hair business. She supports me all the time without force and plug me in with her clients as well. Me and my family is very close and we support each other in everything we do! Lastly, my bestfriend Myia Dacosta. She is a big help to my business when it comes to delivering packages and making sure I take the right steps to getting closer to my goals. I love how she unconditionally supports me.
