We had the good fortune of connecting with KarriRxS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi KarriRxS, why did you pursue a creative career?
“I love creating music. From the lyrics to the 808 to the melody, there is always something to refresh my palate.” Music was the first form of emotional expression that contributed to Karri’s continuous development as an artist. After performing as a soloist in high school, he realized how performing can impact a person’s life beyond the auditorium. “Having the ability to control someone’s emotions through song and is very powerful. Being aware to not take advantage of that power takes great strength.”

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
KarriRxS is an independent pop recording artist, composer, and producer. He specializes in creating different moods for his audience, while hiding important messages in his unique way of storytelling. His latest single “birfdae”, released November 6 2020, was written as a birthday/love letter to himself. “A lot of people, myself included, have been feeling underwhelmed more often than we should have on our own birthdays. Also living during a global pandemic, I felt the need to create a song to remind myself and the world of how much we all deserve love, along with gifting my Day 1 supporters with new music. I hope that with this song, I gave at least one person the same feeling of love that they deserve on the one day where it matters.” Although he faces daily challenges as a college student, he is determined to share his unique story [and voice] with the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
“Any time where I can just chill with my friends is a great time, but we would most likely first go to Lennox Mall. We would start off window shopping then it would mysteriously end with us leaving the mall with multiples bags of clothes and food. We could then go to Piedmont Park for the peaceful view and have a picnic. I would also want to show them what the Atlanta University Center looks like, giving them a small tour of campus life. We could hit up a few hole-in-the-wall food places like Yasin’s Homestyle Seafood, Q-Time Restaurant, BTJ Wings, Soul Vegetarian, etc. But there are so many things to do in Atlanta, it would just depend on how long/often they would be visiting.”

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
“First, I want to give credit to God. I believe that everything in my life happens for a reason. Without God, I would have given up a long time ago and not even have this opportunity to present my story on such a great platform as this. Next, I must give credit to my music mentors who have helped contribute a great deal of knowledge to my successes and failures. I, lastly, want to give thanks to my family and close friends for always providing reality while unconditionally supporting my ideas.”
