We had the good fortune of connecting with Myesha Stinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Myesha, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
My end goal professionally for my career is to have a intimate restaurant that serves brunch but also have tapas still food with a southern cuisine twist to it. I also want have a space where I can have my one on one cooking classes and group classes. I want to be able to record live of me cooking meal from beginning to end. Because Im a creative I would also like to have a venue space where I can accommodate all my guests needs from the space, food, dessert, music and decor. My ultimate goal it to be a one stop shop when it comes to planning events and to have a restaurant where I can constantly allow my creativity to flow through food.

What should our readers know about your business?
I would have to say it clicked back in 2010 I was fresh out of high school and I went off to college. Now I have to be honest and say I knew traditional college wasn’t for me but I wanted to give it a try. I originally went to school to be a nurse and the drastically changed by 2011. So I decided to take some time off from school to really figure out what I wanted to do with my life. Growing up cooking alway brought my family together, so it wasn’t something I wasn’t familiar with, It just didn’t hit me until I began to REALLY enjoy it. So In 2012 I enrolled in Culinary Arts School at Atlanta Tech. I finished and got my degree in 2015.. Fast forward to 2017 that really when I started to take my business serious. I got business cards made, plan a small mixer to advertise my creation I made, not having a clue what all it took to run a business. I began to do small thing like cupcake orders and making cookies. Anytime we had a family gathering I would do the cooking. Business really began to take off for me when social media got popular. I made a Facebook page and Instagram for my business and even a website. Which was trash. Lol. But honestly as the years have gone by Ive learn so much about business and how far I want to take it. At first I was ok with just keeping myself boxed in, but now I see how God has shown me that it so much more to just baking cupcakes and cooking I want to do it ALL. It definitely hasn’t been easy. But I want the world to know that Katiecupcakes & OhmytastyMealz will be a household name. That to not give up on yourself or your dreams and that if God gives you a gift work on it, don’t let it work you. It much more to come from me, so get READY!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So I have to be honest. Lol im a homebody. But when I do get out and mix and mingle I like to try out the new place. So im a girl that loves a good BRUNCH! So Breakfast at Barneys and the Garden Park of ATL are a go to. Atlanta is known for a good day party and hookah so you cant go wrong with Siva Hookah Lounge or Suite Lounge. If you want to be a big kid and enjoy a fun time The Skyline Park. Atlanta has amazing restaurants, bars and culture so a weekend here and you wont be disappointed! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So first and foremost GOD! He has brought me and carried me through the journey of entrepreneurship. I have to thank my AMAZING family! They have been one of my biggest supporters throughout the entire journey. To my friends, my IG supporters. But also to my other Bakers and treat makers in the business: Koya Grant (koyas_kreations) Chelsea Johnson (oventreats) Kelsey Collins (Kayyscupcakes). To MYSELF for not giving up when I wanted to SO MANY TIMES!
