We had the good fortune of connecting with KIMMIE PHAM and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi KIMMIE, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My business is solely based around expressing one’s self through fashion. As well as keeping a conscious mind when shopping for styles. By posting sustainable, high fashion content on my Social Media, it has made my audience aware of how affordable it is to dress big without breaking bank. All whilst saving the planet.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a small Fashion Model based in ATL and I use my IG as a Fashion Blog. I like all my content to reflect my personality so I edit all of them to show their bright and vibrant colors. I work with small business fashion boutiques in Atlanta, GA. As well as with larger brands via IG. My proudest moment is when my face was put on the NASDAQ Billboard in Times Square, twice! Crazy right? I’ll be honest, it feel like I got lucky. But in reality, it’s all a lot of hard work. I got lucky on IG, receiving love and encouragement to post from my audience. However, I had to work hard and sacrifice time to go to unpaid shoots in order to gain exposure and meet new people. I also had to be consistent when making connections in order not to lose those connections. And at the end of the day, it’s normal to feel drained and burnt out. But I love love love my job and I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else. I love all the people I’ve met and have yet to meet. As long as you’re happy, any sacrifice is worth while. My job is my passion.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ironically enough, one of my highschool besties is scheduled to visit in a month or two and I already know where I’m going to take her! First, I’m taking her to get coffee at my favorite, East Pole Coffee Co. Next, is a mandatory trip to Ponce City Market for some local shopping and good eats. The next day, I plan on taking her to breakfast at Maple Street Biscuit Company in Historical Downtown Duluth. And then we can take photos in the town center. I also plan on taking her around Midtown, ATL. Dinner at The Lawrence or The Lure, depending on if she wants seafood or southern cuisine. And then desert at Cafe Intermezzo-Midtown. And maybe even a few late night drinks at The Anguished Barber.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a huge warm shout-out to my friend Sean Artest (@seanartest) and all the people behind his music. In my opinion, he’s making a positive impact in the ATL music industry with his unique story telling. I’d also like to shout-out my friend Thaddeous Veloso (@thaddeusv) who is a new-and-upcoming Artist. Thaddeous is a new ATL Music Artist who I believe will soon make it big. Solely because I have yet to hear anyone make the kind of music he does. It’s a sweet mixture of bittersweet lo-fi and hip-hop.
