We had the good fortune of connecting with Arnya Martin Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arnya, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
When I think of my legacy, I want to be remembered as the woman who went for it. I want to be remembered as the woman who loved hard and was there when people needed her. I want to be remembered for my wisdom and nurturing spirit. I want people to think of the funny things I may have said or done and be able to say “she always made me smile”. I want people to think of my smile and how I didn’t allow those things that tried to come against me bring me down. I want them to say, she wanted to inspire those that crossed her path to be their best self.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I am the CEO of Ladi CEO, LLC. Ladi CEO, is a collection of businesses, LadiCEO Brand Consulting and Management, Mz. Thang’z Boutique, A Ladi & Her Wine, Pick Your Persona, and Virtual Pop Up Shop. I am also, a Journalist at SwagHer Magazine and Media, where I host Listening Party and In the Kitchen with Arnya, segments. I am the Co-Host of Theories & Thoughts Podcast. I am what many would call a Serial Entrepreneur. I have been an entrepreneur for 17 years. I started LadiCEO to shine light on women as they move in a male dominated world. Women are surveyed to be weak, but in actuality women can bring femininity into any position or career. A LadiCEO is a woman who is confident in herself as she creates her own lane and path in life. LadiCEO Consulting helps existing and future business owners create a lane for themselves. I do not charge a grand sum of money because I understand from experience that when you start a business, you may have a lot of startup cost. I guide my clients to make the best decision for their brand. Mz. Thang’z Boutique is an expression wear online store. My t-shirts tell the world what  women would like to relate, without saying a word. A Ladi & Her Wine, was developed to create a moment to unwind and chill. Pick Your Persona was created to bring positivity and confidence to women who may not be experiencing it at this time in their lives. The Virtual Pop Up Shop, is designed to reach clients who may not be in your local area. It also, gives small businesses an outlet to vend, during this Covid-19 pandemic. My journey to the businesses that I have now was not easy. I started my first business at the age of 22 or 23 right after the President of the company I was working for, told me I could not do anything else as far as advancing my career with the company. I have started businesses with friends that didn’t work out. LadiCEO came to me one day but I thought it was supposed to be something totally different. My consulting business name was Monroe’s Marketing and Business Image Consulting. There came a time that I knew I needed to change that name. I went with a different name but shortly changed it to LadiCEO, It has been a faith walk, especially with ALL of my businesses. It is almost as God said, here you go, take this. The businesses came about so easy with stride, my businesses are an extension of who I am and what I like. It flows naturally but with any business there are challenges and struggles that will pop up. I pray a lot and take a step back. I have learned I can not do it all alone. I actually have hired an assistant to help me along with the way. I have also learned through the years in business that having a supporting cast, is important. You may not talk daily but they are there when you need them. In the end my brand story consists of Me. Each Business is a part of the woman that I am. In doing things that I love, it does not seem hard. I feels like I am just enjoying life. Business will have it’s struggles but when you do what you like, you are more inclined to get pass it faster.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was coming into town and I had to create an itinerary, I would find places that I haven’t been but that I know we would enjoy. I don’t have any particular places that are must have places to visit. I would see what is going on in the city and plan accordingly. I know shopping would be included, along with eating out. I don’t want to do to places that I have already gone many times. I would be up for an adventure.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shout out to the brave women in the world who never gave up on who they knew they could be. This is dedicated to all the brilliant women who share my space now. Those who constantly encourage me, pray for me and listen to me vent. This is dedicated to my favorite girl, my mother. She once told me that I would be a great woman one day, I believed her.
