We had the good fortune of connecting with Ciera Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ciera, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my brand and my success is showing up for myself. Many times in my past I had the desire to want certain things, and want success but my actions did not deserve my desires. What I wanted didn’t match the work I was putting in.  After getting out of my own way, I understood that every day I have to go hard for myself and show up, and as long as I do that, the results and things I desire will come.

What should our readers know about your business?
I balance two parts of my business. I am a Mental Health Coach with Fancee LLC, and help others transform their minds so they are able to live a fancee (unrestricted and fulfilled) life, and then leverage my creativity to help business owners generate revenue and gain brand exposure through branded merch, as well as provide custom merch for all of my other client for birthdays, weddings, etc. Neither avenue has been easy. With Mental Health, I am working against the stigma to normalize the conversation and get people to understand that we all have issues, but we need the right tools to navigate through them. With Fancee Customs, which is my design business, I had to realize even though many people create custom items, my creativity, customer service, and turn around time is unmatched. I have taken my experiences from corporate America, both good and bad, and incorporated those principles into my business. Working for companies like Best Buy, Nike, Blue Cross Blue Shield, combined with working for a small business for over 4 years, I was able to tailor my experience and master things like customer experience and service in my own business, thus setting myself a part from those who may do the same things I do. Ive dedicated myself to my business, not only for myself but for everyone I come in contact with. Everyday is not pretty. Some days I want to give up but everyday I choose to show up for myself and in return give my clients my all and that is reflected in my work daily.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wow that’s such a hard answer. I am such a chill person so I am all about dope and intimate vibes. I would say that finding a nice Hookah Spot that has good music, drinks, and just an overall vibe would def be number one for me. Of course you can’t skip over eating at a dope restaurant that caters to everybody’s vibe. If it’s the summer time, chilling by the pool, catching up is def on the agenda to. I am a free flow type of person, so as long as we have dope vibes when we are together, I’m game for anything. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would dedicate my shoutout to Rachel Gibbs and Tabitha James. Both of these women have invested significantly in my growth and helping me get out of my own way to really fulfill my own potential. They served in the capacity of support but also mentorship. They def deserve to be recognized as a part of my success story!
