We had the good fortune of connecting with Emmy Baribault and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emmy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Growing up with two business owners as parents, entrepreneurship always felt like part of my future. But it wasn’t until I was recovering from brain surgery for Isolated Cervical Dystonia that I truly decided to take the leap.

During the summer of 2023, I found myself at a crossroads: return to the comfort of a corporate career or use my recovery as an opportunity to build something of my own. I chose the latter and launched Socially Emsbari.

Starting a business was both exhilarating and intimidating. Like many entrepreneurs, I wrestled with questions about whether I would find clients, whether I was talented enough to succeed on my own, and whether I could sustain the business financially, emotionally, and mentally. The uncertainty was real, but so was the determination to create something meaningful.

Looking back, every risk and every fear was worth it. Today, I continue to lead Socially Emsbari with the same resilience, dedication, and enthusiasm that carried me through recovery and inspired me to start the business in the first place. Each new opportunity serves as a reminder that taking a chance on myself was one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Unlike larger agencies, my clients work directly with me from start to finish. That means personalized attention, responsive communication, and a deep understanding of their brand, goals, and vision. I am involved in every aspect of the process—from strategy and content creation to community engagement, public relations, and brand storytelling—ensuring that every piece of content serves a purpose and reflects the client’s unique identity.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is celebrating my clients’ successes. Whether it’s seeing a project gain meaningful engagement online, receiving positive feedback from their audience, being featured in a publication, or earning industry recognition through awards and design competitions, I take great pride in helping showcase their talents and accomplishments.

I have also been fortunate to work alongside my mother, Beverly Baribault, an accomplished interior designer, who introduced me to the design industry. Having grown up watching her creativity, attention to detail, and dedication to her clients, I developed an appreciation for the artistry and craftsmanship behind every project. That exposure has given me a unique perspective when marketing not only designers, but also the artisans, fabricators, and skilled professionals who bring those visions to life.

As a business owner, I am constantly learning. One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is the importance of staying curious. Marketing is always evolving, and so are the businesses and people behind the brands. The more I research, listen, and understand my clients, the better I can tell their stories and help them connect with their audiences in meaningful ways.

If there’s one thing I want people to know about my brand and my story, it’s that Socially Emsbari was built on resilience, hard work, and a genuine passion for helping others succeed. I am committed to continually learning, growing, and delivering work that not only elevates my clients’ brands but also celebrates the talent, dedication, and stories behind them.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots in the Atlanta area include Le Colonial Atlanta and Krog Street! Other spots I frequent are Laseter’s Tavern in Vinings, GA and of course going to an Atlanta Braves game at Truist Park is always a treat!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my parents, Beverly Baribault of Beverly Baribault Design Group, Thomas Baribault of Coatings Applications & Waterproofing of Marietta, GA and all of my loyal clients (especially Tracie Bresnahan of Custom Creations – instagram is @custom_creationstb).
