Meet Andre Knights | DJ and Music Producer | Creative Technologist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andre Knights and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andre, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My work in DJing and music production helps the community by creating spaces where people can come together through music and actually feel connected in the moment. Whether it is a club, private event, or community gathering, my focus is on building an atmosphere where people feel included, comfortable, and able to let go of everyday stress.
Over the years, I have seen how powerful music can be in bringing very different people into the same space and giving them a shared experience. It is not just about playing songs, it is about reading the room, shaping the energy, and helping people enjoy a moment that feels collective.
I also try to support local events and up and coming artists whenever I can because keeping music culture active at the local level matters. For me, the real impact is knowing that people leave the event feeling better than when they arrived, even if just for a few hours, and that the same feeling of connection and positivity carries through in the music I produce and share beyond the events themselves.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work sits at the intersection of DJing and music production, focused on creating experiences that feel intentional, emotional, and energetic. What sets me apart is my ability to read a room in real time as a DJ while also carrying that same awareness into my production, so the music translates beyond the moment.
The journey has not been easy. Like most creative paths, it has taken consistency, patience, and a lot of learning through experience. One of the biggest challenges was staying focused and continuing to build even when progress was not always immediate.
Over time, I have learned that growth comes from persistence, collaboration, and being open to evolution. Every set and every track teaches you something if you stay open to it.
What I want people to know is that my brand is rooted in passion, discipline, and connection. My goal is always to create music and experiences that people can feel, remember, and carry with them.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a best friend was visiting Atlanta for a week, I would try to give them a mix of great food, culture, music, and local spots so they really feel the energy of the city.
We would definitely start with food, because Atlanta has an incredible mix of cultures. I would take them to places like Busy Bee Café for classic soul food, JR Crickets for some real Atlanta lemon pepper wings, and Ponce City Market for an easy spot to walk around and try different things. I would also make sure we hit some of the island spots like J’ouvert Caribbean Kitchen and Spice House, because they bring a different flavor and vibe that really adds to the city’s diversity.
During the day, I would keep it relaxed but active. Walking the Atlanta Beltline is always a must, stopping at different sections for food, drinks, and meeting people. I would also show them areas like Little Five Points for something more creative and unique, and maybe just hang out at Piedmont Park to slow things down a bit.
At night, it depends on the vibe, but I would mix it up between lounges, clubs, and places with good music. Atlanta has a strong DJ culture, so catching a solid set somewhere is always part of the plan when timing lines up.
And if we have some extra time to spare, we can always stop by one of the premier recording studios like Patchwerk Recording Studios, Stankonia Recordings, and/or 800 East Studios and cook up some heat.
Overall, I would want them to experience both sides of Atlanta, the cultural scene and the creative energy that shows up in the music, the people, and the nightlife.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give credit to the people who supported me early on, especially friends and mentors who encouraged me to stay consistent with music when it was still just a passion. A lot of my growth also comes from the local DJ and producer community I came up around, where sharing knowledge and opportunities was a big part of the culture.
On a personal level, my family has always been a steady source of support throughout the journey. I also want to acknowledge the wider music community and the artists who came before me, because their influence and creativity continue to inspire everything I do today.
