Success takes on a lot of names in my business. That may sound cliche but there are so many pieces at play between exposure, the sale, equipment, the clients happiness, the guest enjoyment, and of course how I hold myself accountable for the quality of my sets. It is important for me to reflect on every event, normally on the way home, about what went right, what could have gone better, and what I learned. One key factor on when you know to keep going. Purpose: Long as what you’re doing serves purpose for you, makes you feel like you’re making a difference. What inspired us to be the MAKO Girls and pursue a career in the music industry was meeting the boy group “Mindless Behavior”. Back in 2012 at DBS Sounds. After their meet & greet event, we watched their documentary together. What makes me happy is growth and becoming the woman I know I’m meant to be. My daughter Autumn plays a huge role in that. Being able to show up for her, love her, and create a life where she feels safe and inspired truly fulfills me.

Some may pursue a creative career—it honestly feels like I was born to create. At 7 years old, I was writing five-page horror stories in composition notebooks just to keep my mind occupied. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 5, and creativity became my way of channeling that energy into something focused and meaningful. Read More>>

My idea of work-life balance has evolved a lot over time. As a full-time student at North Carolina A&T State University, balancing extracurriculars, leadership roles, and work, my schedule was packed but there was more flexibility in how I structured my time. Now, working full-time in as a Social Strategist for Ford in New York City, the stakes and structure feel different. My time is more fixed, and balance requires more intentionality. Read More>>
