We had the good fortune of connecting with Abdul Wasir and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Abdul, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
It really started with curiosity. Since childhood, I’ve always loved figuring things out, inventing ideas, and trying new things. Creativity felt natural to me. As I grew, that curiosity turned into a love for visual storytelling. I found myself drawn to design, motion, digital art… Choosing a creative career simply felt right, it’s where I feel most free, challenged, and excited to bring ideas to life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is all about design, creativity, digital art, animation, and visual storytelling. I love turning ideas, concepts, and emotions into visuals that people can connect with. What sets me apart is how I blend personal insight and imagination in every piece, creating work that is not only visually engaging but also tells a story.

I’m most proud of building a style that reflects both curiosity and discipline. The journey hasn’t always been easy, mastering digital art and animation takes patience, constant learning, and resilience. I overcame challenges by staying focused, experimenting fearlessly, and learning from the inspiring creatives around me.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that creativity works best when it’s intentional. Through my work, I want the world to see that design, animation, and visual storytelling aren’t just skills, they’re ways to communicate, inspire, and leave a lasting impression.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting Tamale for a week, I’d make sure they experienced the city’s creativity, culture, and food. We’d start at Red Clay, exploring the artworks and learning about the history behind them. Then we’d visit Nuku Studio, a photography and art space that’s perfect for inspiration and discovering visual storytelling.

For food, we’d go to Fataw Bicycle or De Shallot Eatery to enjoy some of the best local dishes. And we’d spend time at the Savannah Center for Contemporary Art (SCCA), to hang out, learn, and connect with the local art scene. It would be a week full of creativity, culture, and good vibes in Tamale.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be where I am without the people around me. First, my elder brother Jauhar, his support towards me has been a constant push forward.
Then there are my CoCreatives, Ras Rajah, Suleiman Nimbang, IB Davinci, Reed, PSD Gad, and so many other incredibly talented people around me. Being surrounded by creatives who are hungry, dedicated, and constantly improving has shaped me more than they even realize. They inspire me, challenge me, and remind me why I love what I do.

My journey isn’t a solo story, it’s a collection of everyone who has supported, encouraged, or collaborated with me. They all deserve this shoutout.
