We had the good fortune of connecting with Rae Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rae, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my own business came from a deep desire to support people in ways that felt authentic to me as a Marriage and Family therapist. I’ve always been passionate about creating safe, accessible spaces for healing, and I realized that building my own practice would allow me to show up for clients in a way that truly aligns with my values.

At the same time, hosting my Affirmations and Gratitude podcast showed me how powerful it can be to reach people beyond the therapy room. It inspired me to think bigger about the impact I wanted to make. Starting my business felt like the natural bridge between those two worlds, combining my clinical work with my passion for spreading positivity, grounding, and emotional wellness.

Ultimately, it was about stepping into my purpose, trusting my voice, and creating something that supports both individual healing and collective growth.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is really rooted in helping people feel seen, supported, and empowered in their healing. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I focus on creating a compassionate and grounding space where clients can navigate everything from anxiety and life transitions to relationship challenges. What sets my work apart is the blend of clinical training with a deeply human, holistic approach. I’m not just looking at symptoms, I’m looking at the person, the system around them, and the story they carry.

Alongside my clinical work, I host the Affirmations and Gratitude podcast, which has become a meaningful extension of my mission. The podcast allows me to pour encouragement, mindfulness, and accessible mental wellness tools into a much wider community. Bringing these two worlds together, therapy and public healing, has created a brand rooted in authenticity, groundedness, and emotional connection.

The journey to where I am today has had its challenges. Building a business required resilience, patience, and a lot of trust in myself. There were moments where it felt overwhelming, but I learned to embrace the process, lean on my support system, and stay connected to my purpose. Those challenges taught me the importance of boundaries, balance, and believing in the value of my voice.

What I want the world to know about my brand and my story is that everything I create is intentional. My work is designed to offer hope, healing, and a sense of calm, whether someone is sitting across from me in a therapy session or listening to my podcast on their morning commute. My goal is to create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and inspired to grow. That’s the heart of my work, and the foundation of everything I build.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly, I’m a homebody, so my idea of a perfect week is pretty laid-back. If my best friend were visiting, we’d definitely take a trip out of state and head back home to Maryland for fresh crabs with extra Old Bay, because nothing beats that. The rest of the week would be cozy and simple: good food, good conversations, visiting my family, and just enjoying each other’s company while slowing down. That’s my kind of perfect trip.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and close friends deserve this shoutout without a doubt. They’ve been the cornerstone of my journey, supporting me through every leap of faith, late nights of studying, and new chapters I’ve embraced. Their encouragement, honesty, and unconditional love have kept me grounded and motivated, especially as I built my career as a Marriage and Family Therapist and launched the Affirmations and Gratitude podcast.

They are the ones who remind me why I do what I do, celebrate my successes, and lift me up during tough times. I genuinely wouldn’t be where I am today without them, and I’m deeply grateful for the role they play in my life and story.
