We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Sita Mann and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lindsey Sita, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
The type of land management we do at Stellar Roots Farm brings people together to care for the environment in a Regenerative way. We are building soil, supporting biodiversity and also increasing health sovereignty as people learn to use plants as food and medicine. We host workshops on-farm to spread knowledge of herbalism and regenerative agriculture, and folks get to know each other and their environment.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work is a cross between ecological design and organic farming. My ecological design practice has roots in Landscape Architecture (I have a Master’s degree) and Agroecology, which I also studied in graduate school. My experience with Organic agriculture lended to more sustainable techniques than we are taught in Landscape Architecture courses, like building soil as a foundation for a healthy garden. My practice evolved as I learned and integrated techniques from Biodynamic farming and Permaculture to create what we know understand as Regenerative management: restoring and improving local ecosystems, as opposed to merely sustaining them. And with this right techniques, regeneration can happen in a relatively short time frame. I began creating landscapes for homes, schools and businesses in Atlanta with my small firm Sustenance Design. After twenty years of practice, I was able to start a farm of my own- Stellar Roots Herb Farm was born in 2023 after many years of observing and tending the land. We grow medicinal herbs Regeneratively, are Certified Organic and offer classes and hands-on farm experience, as well as grow a variety of medicinal herbs.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We offer farm tours and and hands-on herbalism, foraging and regenerative farming workshops two hours outside of Atlanta in Tiger, GA. Tiger is just 20 mins from the town of Clayton, Ga which has lots of fun restaurants, shops and of course gorgeous hiking in the region! The area has been undergoing a bit of a renaissance in the last several years. OldKnow BevCo is a local distillery in Clayton with incredibly creative craft cocktails and mocktails. We have a fabulous health food store called Holistic Mountain Market, and don’t miss Tallulah 1882 on your way into town- an herbalist-run tea house with all kinds of delicious creations. Grab a tea and snack and head to view the Gorges at Tallulah Falls State Park.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Well, we have some collaborations that have made some waves recently! We grow a lot of the botanicals used by local Decatur distillery Murrell’s Row Spirits. Their Tulsi Gin, which uses 100% Stellar Roots Farm Tulsi won the highest International honor for any distilled spirit in May 2025: Double Gold at San Francisco Global Spirits Competition. We were excited about that, because it demonstrates the value of utilizing the freshest, highest quality ingredients. They attribute the exceptional flavor profile of their gin to our botanicals. The guys at Murrell’s Row are truly dedicated to working with local growers and foragers, which makes for a fun, community building experience and it lends to an elevated expression of the product, known in the culinary world as “terrior.’ Terrior speaks to the unique artisan flavors of a given region.
