Meet Aaliyah Nicole | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaliyah Nicole and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaliyah, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued a creative career because, quite frankly, I didn’t have much of a choice. Music and art have always been my way of processing life—the highs, the lows, the chaos, and the beauty. Growing up in a house where different cultures blended together, music was the universal language. It was in the church choir where I first realized I could use my voice to not just sing but to tell stories that matter.
Beyond the love for music, I pursued this path because I know it’s where I can make the most impact. It’s where I can speak truths that people might be too afraid to say, and create a space where others can feel seen, heard, and understood. Being able to craft something that resonates with people on a deeper level—that’s what fuels me. It’s not just about me creating; it’s about connecting and uplifting others through this journey. And if I’m being honest, once you’ve felt that kind of connection, there’s no turning back. It becomes your purpose.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is a reflection of my journey and the diverse cultural influences that have shaped me—Haitian, Jamaican, and Panamanian. Growing up, music was my outlet for expression, and it became the space where I could process emotions, share my truth, and connect with others. I started in the church choir, which gave me a foundation in both discipline and soul, and that’s where I discovered the power of my voice. Over the years, I’ve realized that my sound isn’t limited to one genre. While my journey began in Afro R&B, I’m a genre-fluid artist who loves blending elements of Afrobeat, R&B, gospel, and even pop. My music is about expression, connection, and authenticity—it’s about what feels real and true in the moment.
The road here wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. I faced challenges, especially as a woman in a male-dominated industry, where I had to learn to set boundaries, speak up, and trust my instincts. I quickly realized that being “nice” or overly agreeable wouldn’t protect me, and I had to unlearn a lot of misconceptions about how to navigate the industry. But with each challenge, I grew stronger and more confident in my purpose. God has always made a way, and through every trial, I’ve been reminded that the journey is just as important as the destination.
I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and one of the things I’m most excited about is the creation of my production company, Pyramid Productions Entertainment. It allows me to help other artists find their voice, build their brand, and create meaningful art. I’m passionate about empowering fellow creatives, especially those who may not have the resources or support to make their dreams a reality.
What I want the world to know is that my art is about more than just music—it’s about creating a space where people can feel heard, understood, and uplifted. It’s a reflection of my growth, my faith, and my commitment to authenticity. My brand is built on love, strength, and the belief that no matter where you start, you can always rise and create something powerful. I’m just getting started, and I can’t wait to share what’s next.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Miami for the week, just know—we’re doing it right. No half-stepping, no tourist traps, just vibes and unforgettable memories.
We’d check into 1 Hotel South Beach because the energy there is next-level—sustainable luxury with a view that’ll have you rethinking your entire life. The kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve already made it, even if you’re still on your way.
Night one, we’re getting dramatic (in the best way) at Barton G—because where else are you going to get dinner and a full theatrical production on your plate? It’s the kind of place where your entrée might arrive with sparklers, fog, or in a miniature bathtub—and I live for that kind of extra.
Sunday morning is for The Backyard brunch—laid-back, vibey, and perfect for recapping the night before with bottomless mimosas and healing sunlight. But don’t get too comfortable, because LIV on Sunday is non-negotiable. We’re talking high energy, good music, and dancing like we don’t have a single responsibility in the world.
Throughout the week, we’d hit up Wynwood for street art, cute cafés, and that cool creative energy that just makes you want to start a clothing line or shoot a music video on the spot. Then we’re stopping in Little Havana for culture, flavor, and cafecito so strong it’ll make you believe in your dreams again.
One day is reserved strictly for a boat day—because Miami without a yacht moment? Couldn’t be me. Good food, good people, Bluetooth speaker on full blast, sun kissing your skin… it’s a reset for the soul.
Miami is filled with the most interesting, passionate, and creative people—whether they’re artists, entrepreneurs, or just out here living boldly. That energy is what makes it special. So when my best friend visits, I don’t just want them to see the city—I want them to feel it. To feel alive, inspired, and like anything is possible. Because that’s the Miami I know and love.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I absolutely have to shoutout God and my family—they’re the reason I’m here today. My journey wouldn’t have been possible without their love, support, and guidance. Specifically, I have to honor my mother, who made one of the toughest decisions a parent can make. She decided to have our grandmother raise my sister and I while she battled a drug addiction. That decision meant we grew up in a stable, loving environment with strong roots in the church—and that foundation shaped everything I am today.
I owe so much to my grandmother, who not only gave us a safe home but also made sure we were part of the church choir, where I discovered my voice and purpose. It’s also why I decided to make Nicole part of my artist name—it’s my way of thanking my mother for making that responsible, selfless choice, and for setting the foundation that led me to the music world. Her decision led to me finding my voice and my destiny, and for that, I’ll be forever grateful. It’s a testament to how powerful love, sacrifice, and faith are in shaping who we become.
