We had the good fortune of connecting with Iman Calhoun and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Iman, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started IN NUUD because I saw a gap in how women feel about themselves in their most natural, relaxed state. I wanted to create a loungewear brand that lets women feel just as beautiful, confident, and put-together at home as they do when they’re out. IN NUUD is about more than comfort. it’s about affirming women’s worth and beauty exactly as they are. Whether they’re lounging, running errands, or hanging with friends, I wanted them to feel seen, celebrated, and effortlessly confident.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As the founder and creative behind IN NUUD, my work exists at the intersection of style, comfort, and self-worth. Every piece is designed by me, beginning as a sketch and brought to life through a cut-and-sew process from scratch. What sets IN NUUD apart is the emotional experience we create for women. It is not just loungewear. It is a reflection of how you feel in your skin and a reminder that confidence and beauty do not require a reason or an audience.

I started IN NUUD after realizing how often women only feel “put together” when they leave the house. I wanted to challenge that mindset and create pieces that make women feel like that girl in their most relaxed and everyday moments. That intention guides every creative decision, from fabric selection to campaign messaging.

The journey has been far from easy. IN NUUD has been four years in the making, and one of my greatest challenges was finding the right manufacturer. I went through multiple rounds of trial and error, working with the wrong partners before finding the perfect fit. It was a process that tested my patience but ultimately refined my vision. One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that authenticity always leaves the deepest impact. I remind myself every day why I started. To affirm women exactly as they are.

What I want the world to know about IN NUUD is that it is more than clothing. It is an invitation to feel powerful, even in the quiet. It is a lifestyle that celebrates softness without sacrificing strength.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting Atlanta, we’d grab dinner at Yeppa, then head to Drawbar for rooftop drinks. Brunch would be at Breakfast at Barney’s, and we’d shop at The Shoppes of Buckhead. Atlanta is always a vibe on the weekends, so we’d definitely hit a day party or two and enjoy the nightlife.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a special shoutout to my mother, Nichole Calhoun, an incredible realtor who has been in the game for over 20 years. While she now serves the Metro Atlanta area, her dedication, professionalism, and heart for her clients have inspired me more than she knows. She’s not just amazing at what she does, she uplifts everyone around her and truly sets the standard in the real estate game. I’m grateful for her support, her example, and the path she’s paved.
