We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Michael Eggleston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Michael, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
To be honest, a group of habits have helped me to succeed in life in school and my business. I personally believe that in order to navigate life and it’s challenges as well as tough circumstances one must have habits that contribute to a positive mindset and feed the desire to succeed and be creative. Among many a few are working out, doing yoga, breathwork/ meditation, cooking my own food, staying away from fast food/ processed foods, leisurely reading and practicing Spanish daily.

I’m not someone who had a traditional route to becoming who I am with the mindset I currently possess. I had been through the fire, was at a crossroads and had to be honest with myself and hold myself accountable. As well as being real, seeking help from others and having a relentless desire to change things in my life as well as action/ habits I was doing.

What should our readers know about your business?
As far as my business is concerned, motion chiropractic is a luxury mobile concierge chiropractic service that caters to luxury hotels, country clubs, golf clubs, upscale hair and nail salons as well as executives, professionals and professional athletes. I’ve created my own lane in chiropractic and have a niche role in the profession. What stands us apart from the rest is that we take our time with our clients as well as listening to the whole person and helping in many aspects. We are not here to only help with pain whether it be from the back or neck. I don’t claim to heal every disease or ailment, I am a Doctor of the nervous system and I advocate for being proactive in taking care of your spine/ nervous system, as well as taking care of yourself in all aspects. We are here to change minds, to help people have a paradigm shift on what chiropractors actually do and what health represents.

Honestly, I’m most proud of the effect that spinal alignments are having on some of my friends that are doctors and professionals because it’s teaching them what chiropractors can really do as well as experiencing a different level of thinking about the importance of their nervous system to their total being.

I can honestly say I’ve had a long road to get to where I am. I fell on my face many times and gotten right back up, hungry and ready to strive for more. The funny part is I’ve always accomplished all goals that I’ve set out to do, but I’ve also always fell from the mountain top in a sense, had to hold myself accountable, make changes with myself and my habits and get it in gear again, stronger with a growth mindset. It was never easy. The hardest thing isn’t changing your mind but putting your plans of change into action, physically and consistently to actually make that change. The most pivotal part is reflecting, being real about what needs to be improved and honestly making changes while giving myself grace. Most of the time I had to work to think differently and/ or make changes to habitual routines.

Along the way, I would say one of the most important things is to learn to lean on other people, but at the same time put in the work and genuinely want to make changes for a different/ better outcome. When people see you grinding and doing differently, you stand out and others in a better position want to help. Also an important thing is learning how to be an observer and not verbalizing everything you think or see.

One thing that I want people to know about my story is that everything came from hard work and perseverance. I’ve been exactly where they were/ are and have seen the brighter side. We all are dealing with our own struggles but everything can get better even though it may not seem like it in the moment. Just takes a different outlook on your situation and someone willing to help that has been there before. You can control your own narrative and have people see you as exactly what you want them to. Just takes time, dedication and a positive outlook on the situation.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly I’ve been a little introverted for a large part of my life and I’m currently working on changing that, being more outgoing and getting out of the house more.

I would definitely recommend taking a friend to Andrettis, a couple lounges depending on if they enjoy partying or not but Atlantic station, the Beltline, the AUC/ West End, Lenox area and Kennesaw mountains would be among the places I take them.

As far as food, I have a passion for cooking and I cook all types of cuisines that I learn from other cultures and counties. I’d put my food that I cook up against any restaurant. But if I went out I would recommend Korean bbq or a hibachi spot.

But my friend Edward is a master in the Atlanta social scene because he’s a lawyer so he knows the upscale places with limited access aka the hidden gems in Atlanta.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank my mother, grandmother and my Uncle Mark who raised me and taught me what hard work and taking care of your responsibilities looks like.

I also want to give a special shout out to my Morehouse brothers and chiropractic brothers who have been with me along the way. They have seen the ups and downs and have stuck with me with nothing but love. You know who you are. And I love and respect anyone along my journey/ matriculation through life good or bad because I was able to use my experiences and relationships to become better as a man and as a doctor. Lastly my lawyer/ brother Edward, one of the best in the country and my mentor/ big brother Dr. Deegan who have both been tremendous in my life and business/ brand. Those 2 have helped shape me into who i currently am.
