We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Lazo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Over time, my approach to work-life balance has changed significantly. In the past, I didn’t set clear boundaries between my professional responsibilities and personal life, which often left me feeling stretched thin. As someone with a full-time career, a family, and a passion for teaching both Pilates and kettlebell training, I’ve learned that balance isn’t something that just happens—it’s something I have to actively create and protect.

Now, I’m intentional about setting and maintaining clear boundaries between work, family time, and coaching. Having a family has made this even more important to me. I prioritize presence over productivity, making sure I give my full attention to each role when I’m in it. That might mean shutting off notifications after hours or carving out time that’s strictly for myself or my family.

I think of balance less as a fixed state and more as a practice—something I check in on and adjust regularly to stay aligned with what matters most.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work sits at the intersection of movement, strength, and real life. I’m a Pilates and kettlebell coach with a full-time career and a family, and what sets me apart is that I live the same challenges my clients face—juggling responsibilities, staying consistent, and navigating life’s demands while still making space for health and strength.

I’m originally from Chile, and as an immigrant, my story hasn’t been all roses. There have been real challenges—cultural, personal, and professional. I’ve had to carve my own path, often without a roadmap, and that journey has shaped how I show up for others. It’s made me deeply committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming space—especially for Latin@s and for people over 30 who may have felt left out of traditional fitness culture.

One thing I’m most proud of is that my work helps people reconnect with their bodies in ways that feel empowering, not overwhelming. I focus on sustainable, functional movement—offering classes that can be done from home, with a supportive community and guidance that meets people where they are. I want to make it clear that movement is for everyone—not just the young, the athletic, or the already-fit.

Getting here wasn’t easy. I’ve had to balance a demanding life, push through moments of doubt, and redefine what success means on my terms. But the biggest lessons I’ve learned are to lead with authenticity, honor my boundaries, and trust that small, consistent steps can lead to powerful transformation.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that this is real-life fitness that respects where you’re starting and helps you build toward where you want to go. It’s about creating space—especially for those who haven’t always felt seen—to move, grow, and feel strong in their own way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit, I’d start with the best of the city—Piedmont Park, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, and rooftop views at Ponce City Market. Then we’d explore the BeltLine, grab bites at Marietta Square Market, and enjoy a coffee stop at Alma Coffee. Since I’m a suburbs girl, we’d spend time at Lake Allatoona and visit local gems in Woodstock, Marietta, and Acworth. A mix of vibrant city spots and peaceful nature—that’s how I’d show off the best of the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First of all to my family, my mentors along my Paralegal career, my close friends, the Atlanta Classical Pilates Community and the Kettlebell Community.
