Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our business was born out of a deep love for African culture and craftsmanship. We specialize in handcrafted beaded footwear that blends tradition with modern style.

Founded in 2020 in Nigeria, Helenz is a brand rooted in the richness of African culture and craftsmanship. We specialize in handcrafted beaded footwear that blends traditional artistry with contemporary style. Each pair of shoes is made with love, precision, and the hands of skilled local artisans, turning cultural heritage into wearable fashion.

Our journey hasn’t been easy, but it has been worth every step. From humble beginnings to reaching customers in over 41 countries, our growth reflects the power of resilience, community, and staying true to one’s vision. We’re proud to represent African excellence on a global stage.

More than just a footwear brand, Helenz is a platform — one that empowers artisans, supports local economies, and shares Africa’s vibrant design legacy with the world. When you wear Helenz, you’re not just wearing footwear — you’re walking in purpose.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to Port Harcourt, I’d give them a perfect mix of nature, culture, fun, and food. We’d kick off with brunch at Michael Gardens and visit the Cultural Center to soak in local art. Then it’s off to the Tourist Beach for sun and suya, and evenings spent dancing at Switch Lounge or enjoying riverside dining at The Waterside.

We’d explore Pleasure Park, go wildlife spotting at Port Harcourt Zoo, and dive into the vibrant nightlife of New GRA. A full day would be reserved for shopping at local markets, and of course, we’d treat ourselves to a spa session before wrapping it all up with a peaceful sunset by the beach.

Port Harcourt is full of color, rhythm, and warmth — and I’d make sure my bestie feels every bit of it.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
At Helenz Footwear, we believe in the power of community, collaboration, and the people who walk beside us.

First and foremost, we want to dedicate our deepest thanks to the local artisans and craftspeople who have been the heartbeat of HELENZ from day one. Their attention to detail, mastery of their craft, and shared pride in quality are woven into every pair of shoes we create. Without them, HELENZ wouldn’t just look different—it wouldn’t be.

We also want to shout out our early mentors—those who saw the spark in an idea and offered guidance instead of doubt. Your wisdom, patience, and “you’ve got this” energy fueled us in the moments we needed it most.
