Meet Jennifer Guynn | Founder, Social Entrepreneur, Philanthropic Advisor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Guynn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factors behind my success—and that of Pebble Tossers—are the belief in our mission and our unwavering commitment to purpose-driven leadership. We focus on creating meaningful service opportunities that empower youth and families to give back. By staying authentic to our mission, building strong community relationships, and embracing innovation, we inspire the next generation of leaders to create lasting change. Our brand message consistently encourages and uplifts our youth. It’s all about making a real impact together and watching those ripples expand!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Pebble Tossers isn’t just a nonprofit—it’s a movement dedicated to creating connections for youth and raising the next generation of servant leaders. We connect youth and families with meaningful service opportunities, but what truly sets us apart is our intentional approach. Volunteering with us isn’t just about showing up; it’s about developing leadership skills, fostering empathy, finding a sense of belonging, and creating a lifelong commitment to giving back.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the ripple effect we’ve created. Many kids who started volunteering with us years ago are now leading service projects. Seeing kids and teens realize their ability to make a difference—and then inspire others to do the same—is incredibly rewarding.
Building Pebble Tossers hasn’t always been easy. Like any organization, we’ve faced challenges—whether it was securing funding, growing our reach, or navigating unexpected obstacles like the pandemic. But persistence, adaptability, and a deep belief in our mission have kept us moving forward. We’ve learned to embrace change, lean on our community, and continuously evolve to better serve those who need us.
One of my biggest lessons is that impact takes time, but every small step matters. Real, lasting change doesn’t happen overnight—it happens one person, one experience, and one act of service at a time. Our tagline is “Start a ripple of giving,” and we hope that when children volunteer with us, they gain a different perspective and can take that experience into their lives.
At its core, Pebble Tossers is about connection and empowerment. We believe that everyone, no matter their age or background, has the power to make a difference. By giving youth the tools and confidence to lead through service, we’re not just creating volunteers—we’re shaping compassionate, engaged citizens who will make an impact for years to come.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As an Atlanta native, I’ve watched the metro area grow and develop into a great food and art scene. I would start an adventure with a friend on the Eastside at Muchacho in Reynoldstown for coffee and pastries then walk the Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail and check out the amazing street art. For lunch, stop at Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall and then walk down to Ponce City Market with a rooftop drink at 9 Mile Station. Hopefully, I’d already made reservations for dinner for Gunshow!
The next day, we’d go to Midtown and visit the High Museum of Art, then up to Spruill Arts Center and Gallery in Dunwoody to check out more local art. We can walk to lunch at Breadwinner Café. Then head to SweetWater Brewery for great craft beer, dinner and trivia night.
For a nature-filled day, we will head to Sope Creek Park for a nice hike and see the historic ruins along the Chattahoochee River. We can visit downtown Roswell for lunch at Fellows Café and visit the shops along Canton Street. We’ll have dinner at The Chastain, and if the timing is right, listen to a concert at Chastain Park Amphitheater.
Since there are so many great farmers markets in the area, like the Peachtree Road Farmers Market or Freedom Farmers Market, we can walk around and gather items for a picnic lunch in Piedmont Park, then walk up to the Atlanta Botanical Garden. We would end the day with an unforgettable seafood dinner at The Optimist.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am grateful to the incredible individuals who have supported, guided, and inspired me throughout my journey. First, the Pebble Tossers Board of Directors has played a pivotal role in shaping my leadership abilities and the organization’s success. Over the past 16+ years, their wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering commitment to our mission have been invaluable. Our past board presidents have given me unique perspectives and strategic insights that have challenged me to think differently and lead with greater confidence.
I am grateful for the families and youth volunteers who have been part of Pebble Tossers. Their passion for service and dedication to making a difference are constantly inspiring. Watching them grow into compassionate leaders has reinforced the importance of our work and fueled my commitment to empowering the next generation.
Fellow nonprofit executive directors have shared their knowledge, experiences, and encouragement. Leadership can often feel isolating, but having a network of like-minded individuals who understand the challenges and rewards of mission-driven work has been a game-changer.
I also have to shout out to my family and close friends. Their belief in me, especially during the toughest moments, has given me the strength and determination to keep pushing forward.
Success is never a solo journey, and I am incredibly thankful for the people who have walked alongside me, lifted me, and helped me grow into the leader I am today.
