We had the good fortune of connecting with Domanique Burnett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Domanique, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am originally from Brooklyn, New York, but I was raised in Florida. Growing up, I was always focused on my future and where I wanted to be in the years ahead. The environments I lived in weren’t reflective of the aspirations I had for myself, so I often found myself daydreaming about the life I wanted to create.

My parents worked tirelessly to provide for me and my siblings, which meant they didn’t always have the opportunity to attend my games or spend as much time with us as they would have liked. While that was challenging, it taught me valuable lessons about independence, resilience, and the importance of creating balance. Their example inspired me to work toward building a life where I can be more present and involved in the lives of my future children while still achieving financial stability. Those early experiences shaped my drive, work ethic, and dedication to creating a better future.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work as a YouTuber is centered around creating authentic, engaging, and relatable content that resonates with my audience. What sets me apart is my commitment to staying true to my personality and sharing my unique perspective. I strive to connect with my viewers on a personal level, whether it’s through lifestyle content, tutorials, or sharing my journey.

Getting to where I am today professionally has been anything but easy. Starting out as a YouTuber comes with many challenges—learning how to create high-quality videos, understanding algorithms, building an audience from scratch, and staying consistent even when growth feels slow. There’s also the mental hurdle of dealing with self-doubt and comparing yourself to others who may seem further ahead.

I’ve learned that perseverance and patience are key. There were times when I doubted if anyone would notice my work, but I reminded myself why I started and kept pushing forward. Staying consistent, learning from others, and continuously improving my content has been crucial.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to embrace imperfection. You don’t need to have everything figured out from the start—what matters is showing up and giving your best effort. Over time, you’ll learn and grow.

What I want the world to know about my story is that creating content is about more than just videos; it’s about building a community and inspiring others. I hope my journey shows that anyone with a dream can start where they are, overcome challenges, and make their vision a reality with dedication and hard work

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Atlanta for a week, I’d plan an itinerary that captures the vibrant culture, diverse cuisine, and exciting energy of the city. Atlanta has so much to offer, from historic landmarks to trendy hotspots, and I’d make sure they got the full experience.

Day 1: We’d start with brunch at The Flying Biscuit Café for some Southern comfort food. Then, we’d visit Ponce City Market to explore unique shops and grab a drink on the rooftop at 9 Mile Station, which has stunning views of the Atlanta skyline. In the evening, we’d head to Little Five Points to experience its eclectic vibe, boutique shopping, and live music scene.

Day 2: A day of history and culture would include visiting the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park and the Atlanta History Center. For dinner, we’d try South City Kitchen, a modern Southern restaurant, and wrap up the night with cocktails at The Battery Atlanta, which is buzzing with energy, especially during baseball season.

Day 3: We’d explore nature at Piedmont Park or take a stroll along the Atlanta BeltLine, stopping to enjoy local street art and pop-up vendors. Lunch would be at Krog Street Market, followed by dessert at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. In the evening, we’d enjoy a live show or comedy at The Fox Theatre.

Day 4-5: I’d dedicate a couple of days to fun day trips just outside the city. We could visit Stone Mountain Park for hiking and scenic views or head to Six Flags Over Georgia for an adrenaline-filled adventure.

Day 6: Back in the city, we’d spend the day exploring Midtown, stopping at the High Museum of Art and enjoying lunch at Mary Mac’s Tea Room, a classic Atlanta institution. For dinner, we’d visit The Optimist for fresh seafood or Gunshow for a unique dining experience.

Day 7: To wrap up the week, we’d start with a morning visit to the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola. We’d end the trip with dinner and rooftop drinks at The Garden Room, an upscale and aesthetically stunning spot that’s perfect for making the final night unforgettable.

Atlanta’s blend of history, culture, food, and entertainment makes it such a dynamic city to explore. I’d want my best friend to leave with a deep appreciation for all the richness Atlanta has to offer!
