Meet Latisha Frye: Executive Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Latisha Frye and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Latisha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always been an entrepreneur and owning my own business was always a dream of mine. I’ve managed to work in the healthcare field and other jobs while trying to run my business. After having several booths inside the flea market, I decided to open my own store front. I’ve had several of businesses and some of those businesses included: Bakery & Deli, kids consignment and retail. While opening my last business, I also decided to go back to school to further my education. I had most of my credits from a community college I attended so I finished in 18 months and received my bachelor’s degree in Healthcare management. After finishing school and working in the healthcare field, I decided to branch out and start my own Home Health agency. This has been the most rewarding career I’ve had!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the Executive Director of Helping Hands Home Healthcare whom seek to bring healing to people who have been through a stressful experience, help them achieve healthy perceptions of themselves, and strengthen their relationships so they can develop and increase their self-love. Our mission is to provide 24/7 superior quality home-care services to clients who are recommended by their family and friends, patients who are recommended by their physician and businesses that are in need of our services. Some of our services offered include: Personal care, Respite, Homemaker, Medication reminder, Alzheimer’s & Dementia care, companion care, Activities of daily living, Emotional support, doctor visits, errands, Housekeeping, transportation, maintenance & lawn, post-surgery, deep cleaning. We perform criminal background checks and drug tests on all new hires and employees. We charge a flat rate per hour with no hidden fees. We are on call 24/7 for emergency service whether client wants personal care or a sitter for date night. We give flexible care options for our clients and staff. We can stop our services anytime with no strings attached. We give clients the choice to ride in the caregiver’s vehicle or their own vehicle. We offer services at better rates compared to competitors. We work closely with families to ensure the client’s get the best care possible. We work with insurance companies to help clients figure out how they can get the best out of their insurance policy. We meet our clients face to face to ensure they are happy with our services. We have a lawn and maintenance department that make sure our client’s yard and home are properly taken care of We offer deep cleaning services to client’s who want more than just light housekeeping. I am extremely proud of myself and staff for always being there when our client’s need us! My staff work never goes unnoticed and they are always rewarded for their good deeds. Getting where I am today definitely wasn’t easy. It took a lot of time, work and patience. I spent my entire childhood in and out of the hospital with serious health issues. I prayed that I would eventually overcome all of my issues that held me back so I would someday be able to own a successful business. Let’s just say that GOD answered my prayers. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take her to California dreaming, one of my favorite restaurants in the area. We would go hang out on the beach, do some shopping at the mall, catch a movie and go on a road trip.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to send a special shout out to my Husband (Richard Frye), Mom (Ruby Henderson) and sister (Domonique Henderson). They have always supported me in everything I’ve done. I would like to send a shout out to a few special friends of mine who’s also the owner of their home-care agency. (Shameka Nettles and Sylvia Brinson). We all mentor, support and motivate each other on a daily basis. I would also like to send a shout out to all of my caregivers and employees. Without them, it would be impossible to provide excellent care to our clients.
