We had the good fortune of connecting with Mayori Hipps and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mayori, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks is believing in yourself 100% . Living off faith, trust, and knowing that you can do anything! There is no life or purpose of existence if you don’t take risks in my opinion. I feel that risk taking is living life with no fear, which is the key to success. Taking risks is very natural for me at this point of my life and career. I act on every vision God, Source, the Creator instills in me, not knowing what the outcome will be, but living in knowing that with every risk is a reward. Everything is a lesson, never a loss. When I first moved to New York in 2022, I was living in risk of securing an internship or not securing one. However I always expect the best, and got the exact one I wanted! Knowing that each step of my journey and life experience is guided at all times, keeps me constantly evolving!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Visionary! My art or better yet my creations are a deep expression of my authenticity of being and perceiving this world. I call myself a Creative Director of my life. Everything I do from cooking, dressing up for the day, and even taking quick outfit pictures are a unique expression of self. My curiosity and my inner child are the driving force of all the shapes, forms, and complexities of how I create my own world. At this time, I am most proud of truly just seeing how otherworldly I am… for knowing how important my existence in this world is beyond physical success, but from just living in my truth, living in my purpose! To get to where I am today took a lot of reprogramming of what I believe in life, my worthiness of receiving, and persistence in bringing all visions to life in the 3D. It definitely hasn’t been easy, life truly is full of lessons, learning, breaking repeating patterns and belief systems that keep people living in the normalities of society. I always could see beyond, since a child. The most important lesson I have learned is how imperative it is to deeply and internally know yourself and love all parts of yourself. Having a deep connection within you is truly having a connection with God, Source, The Divine Creator (whatever you believe in). It is getting beyond the physical 3D world we exist in and choosing to live beyond the surface in truth, love, and gratitude! Anything is possible, dream big, and believe in your abilities to create your dream reality!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmmm ok, as an Atlanta Native, I would def start off the day with a rejuvenating yoga/meditation session at Piedmont park. I then would go get breakfast or brunch from Flying Biscuit down the street for some of their creamy dreamy grits. Or if I was feeling a little more excited I would go to Breakfast at Barney’s for some of their grits too lol. I am a grits lover, def a southern girl at heart! After that I would take us to lil five points to do some exploring and shopping.. to see some original artsy spiritual Atlanta culture. Not just the new Atlanta. I would then take us to the High Museum of Art to see some of the eclectic beauty in this city and world. As the day starts cooling down, I would take us on a nice walk down the beltline, stopping at Ponce City Market, the Mural walk, Krog street Market for Jenni’s ice cream, and a yummy dinner at Two Urban Licks! Later that evening we would go out to hear some good dj sets and dance our heart out at MJQ or The Basement. We might even have a late night vibe at Magic City or Onyx then end the night at Mamas 24 hours Mexican Cuisine! That’s my ideal friend date in Atlanta for a friend!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shout-out my mom and grandparents for always keeping me involved in the arts. Ever since I was a child, I sang in the choir and danced church ministry at 3-4 years old. I was born a star. My family knew that it was up to them to make sure I did everything I loved and was able to continue growing into my gifts. Whether it was dance camp, art camp, gymnastics, sewing classes, or even going to see live performances at the fox. They always kept my inner child fed with creativity, which is a large reason I am who I am today! I truly can create anything I put my mind, energy, and heart into because as a child I never had a limit!
