We had the good fortune of connecting with Riandra J and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Riandra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My initial thought process was “I can’t work for nobody”. However, that’s not the case, you gotta be a worker before you can become a boss. My problem was never “a job”… it was the pay I didn’t like. Plus I’m so multitalented, why keep me bottled up? Why keep my talents away from the world? I don’t want to feel restricted anymore…

What should our readers know about your business?
As a empath, my main goal is to HELP! Big, small, little, tall and any color you can think of. My goal behind the chair is to make sure everyone I touch feels good about theirselves without breaking the bank. Getting your hair done shouldn’t cost a fortune. I’m born & raised Atlanta! I remember getting my hair done, at the salon it was fun, a vibe! I want to offer the same. I want to give back, I want to see others thrive! My mission will always be to help the people. So my prices will stay affordable! And honestly speaking, that’s what set me apart (not from all but some) i genuinely care about the service & not so much as the money because I’m blessed.

This is not an easy process, by a long shot. Building up clientele. I have left hair alone so many times, I’m finding myself having to rebuild, time & time again. Just imagine, lol, new clients asking for pictures of your work but you don’t have any because you took a 3 year break to get your life together. So no this isn’t easy but if you look around, think for a second… what is?

I also don’t have a mentor, no nothing honestly. I’m building up myself from the ground up, literally. So many people have acted like they was there & ended up falling off ship before we took off! I’m learning everything thru trial and error and that’s ok! I will have a testimony out this world when it’s all said & done! Real blood, sweat & tears in this entrepreneurship.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
