We had the good fortune of connecting with King Zell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi King, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from Northeast Baltimore, MD. Cedonia Avenue. My upbringing/background impacts who I am today because it taught me to always stay true to self & just do what ever it is you want to do. Never let what or where you come from deteriorate where you want to go in life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well, I’m not even where I want to be in my career yet. I’m still striving and still working. It’s not really that easy, especially coming from where I come from. A lot of artists let alone “rappers’ don’t really make it into mainstream music or mainstream limelight, only a select few. I’m working towards that so I’m really just working hard and staying focused. Then lessons I’ve learned along the way is just be you, never stay the same if you want change, and don’t get too comfortable. I wan the world to know that I am more than just a rapper, I’m an artist. I really don’t even consider myself a rapper. I want the world to see my vision.
